I slowly stepped off the plane at LAX that morning. My hair straightened and flowing behind me as i confidently made my way to grab a cup of coffee from the Starbucks in the airport. My eyeliner and mascara had co-operated beautifully that morning and I had carefully picked my outfit for the flight. Jeans that weren't too tight, and a rose coloured v-neck t-shirt with my favourite black leather jacket. My coach bag was slung around my shoulder as I made my way through the crowd, following the sweet smell of coffee grinds and sugar. I felt like a million bucks and I knew exactly what was going to happen. Nothing.
Nothing ever happened when I tried too hard. I was dumb enough to think that Niall Horan would be there to watch me walk off the plane and pull me into an embrace or Harry Styles would be walking off it along with me after we'd bumped into each other on the long plane ride from Boston. I over thought and it always killed me.
I sucked in a breath as I pulled my wallet out of my bag, opening it up to frown at my lack of bills before glancing around, seeing a vending machine not too far from the Starbucks that taunted me. I made my way over to it, looking at the small variety of food it displayed. I pursed my lips, debating on getting a bag of chips or a pack of starbursts before slowly looking back over at the Starbucks, sighing. My attention was slowly taken away from the menu above the cashier's head to five highly attractive guys looking me up and down and smiling. I quickly looked away, gnawing on my lower lip. It can't be, they can't be looking at me. Not me. I thought to myself, not wanting to believe they weren't looking over at me. I nonchalantly glanced back over at the counter and took in a deep breath as I made my way over to the counter to buy my coffee that I'd been craving ever since I stepped onto the plane at Logan International Airport five hours ago.
I refused to make eye contact with the boys as I passed by their table, hurrying over to the counter to grab my drink. My heart fluttered as I constantly took in deep breaths, trying to contain my emotions. I quickly ordered my drink, rummaging through my wallet to find some change as someone slapped a ten dollar bill down on the counter, sliding it towards the girl behind the counter who blushed and grinned, quickly handing none other than, Harry Styles back his change. I nervously smiled at him and brushed my dark brown hair out of my face as he smirked at me, stuffing the change in his pocket.
"I hope you don't mind if I pay." he said in his low drawl that made me weak in the knees. I giggled nervously and slightly shook my head, moving aside for the man behind me to order.
"Not at all," I responded in a shaky voice. I quickly cleared my throat and shifted on my feet, glancing down at the ground. "I'm Sarah." I said, holding out my tiny hand for him to shake. He gave me that crooked grin and took my hand, yanking me closer to him.
"Nice to meet you Sarah, I'm Harry," He responded, raising his eyebrows at me. I giggled and took my steaming drink from the guy behind the counter. "Would you like to sit?" Harry suggested, gesturing to the empty tables. I glanced up to see the four other boys smirking at Harry and I as I nodded sheepishly and lead him to the table in the corner, setting my drink down before pulling out the seat to sit down in front of Harry, fixing my shirt. He plopped in front of me, glancing over at his friends then back at me, his deep dimples showing.
"So, Sarah," Harry started, leaning closer to me. "Where are you from?" he asked, looking deeply into my eyes. I pinched myself under the table to make sure this was actually real and not just a dream. I was happy and also shocked to find out that this whole thing was real and quickly answered Harry.
"I'm from Boston but I'm here visiting family for the summer." I responded.
We talked for hours on end before Louis slowly made his way over to us, beaming at Harry before placing a hand on his broad shoulder, Harry's eyes still glued on mine. I bit my bottom lip, glancing down at my empty coffee cup before slowly looking back up at Louis and Harry.
"I hate to interrupt this beautiful scene, but Harry we have to get going." Louis said, giving him apologetic eyes. Harry exhaled noisily as he reached into his pocket to pull out his phone, sliding it across the table to me.
"Add you're number, I really want to see you again." he said, giving me a playfull wink. I snatched up the phone and quickly added my number before standing it up to hand it to him. He beamed at me as I handed him my phone for him to add his number.
"It was really nice to meet you." I said, touching his arm, feeling the butterflies rise in my stomach. Harry smiled at me, handing me back my phone before sighing as he stared at me. He hesitantly held out his arms to grab me in a tight hug as I wrapped my arms around his neck, breathing in the smell of his sweet cologne. I unwillingly let him go and smiled at him as I tossed my empty cup into the garbage can, watching him walk away to grab his brown leather bag and sweat shirt. He stopped dead in his tracks and spun around, quickly walking towards me. He intensely stared at me and cupped my face in his large hands, pressing his lips against mine. I was shocked at first, but kissed him back before he pulled away.
"I wouldn't have forgiven myself if I hadn't done that." He chuckled, his cheeks going pink. I giggled and looked up at him, beaming.
"It's fine, now we really need to see each other again." I responded, giving him a playfull wink. Harry chuckled and nodded in agreement as I pinched myself again. Happy to find out it still wasn't a dream.
