Chapter 54

[ Mina ]
I walked with Dr. Ji out to the door "remember Thursday at two" he reminded me "I will, say hi from me" I said and opened the door. "Of course. Say hi to your family from me too" he said and left. I closed the door and stood there for a while, looking out of the window. I don't have anything to do until Chaeyoung comes home. It's a beautiful day, so sunny. Thought about goes out in the garden but I can't go out there alone... I just can't. I started cleaning my room.
At least it would keep me busy for some time. After two hours I was done scrubbing the floor, cleaning the windows from the inside and organizing my room. I still have time to kill. Then Chaeng's words popped up in my head.
A streamer. I started searching online to see what it was all about.

After a few hours of research, I thought it could be fun to be a steamer. I also found out that not everyone shows their faces on camera which is probably something I would not do too. "Hi" Chaeyoung said and came inside my room.
"Hey" I greeted and she came over and kissed me before laying down on the bed. I went over to her. "How was your day?" I asked "tiring. School was boring as always and work was hard. It's tough leaning all those new things at work but my boss is kind and teaches me well" she answered "how was yours?" she added. I sighed "boring, I didn't really have anything to do but then I thought about what you said. About me being a steamer so I searched about that" I said. "Argh I completely forgot about doing that essay" she pulled her computer out from her backpack and turned it on. "I will let you work" I said and tried to smile then walking down stairs. I sighed, I had hoped we could have spent some time together. I started looking out of the widow again.

Do I want to go outside? Like really outside. I mean there's a lot of things that I wish that I could do. Go out to eat at a restaurant with Chaeng, have a picnic at a park with her, have a date at an amusement park, see the ocean, visit....visit dad and maybe introduce Chaeyoung to him...someday maybe. Maybe Dr. Ji was right, maybe I will be ready someday. "Hi sweetie" I heard and turned around "hi mom" I said and walked over to her in the kitchen. I helped her put groceries away. "Did Chaeyoung already get home?" my mom asked "yeah but she's earlier home then she talked about and I haven't asked why yet" I said and started cutting the vegetables. Chaeyoung came in the kitchen a little after. "Hi, I'm going back to work again" Chaeyoung said and I quickly followed her out to the door. "You have to go back?" I was confused as to why "my boss told me to go home and rest because it was rush hour, he thought it would be better if I wasn't trained right at that time so he spilt it up. Well he promised that I would get paid for the time I was away too so that's really great" she explained. "Oh okay, how kind of him" I know it's kind but is it too kind? Is he flirting with her or something? "yeah he's a really cool dude, don't wait up" she said and kissed me. "I love you" I said to her but I'm not sure if she heard it before she closed the door.

I went into the kitchen again to help my mom finish up the dinner.
We ate and Sana talked about how "good" she was doing in school and not to get scrolled by mom. Momo and I just sat there looking at each other knowing it wasn't true, almost laughed a few times. When we were doing, I went up to my room and started playing online. I played for a few hours. My mom came in to say good night and then I decided to stop playing so I wasn't making too much noise. I got under my blanket and started reading a book. But the thought about Chaeng's boss flirting with her came into my head again. Am I jealous?
No I can't be I'm not the jealous type, right? I asked myself. Then I put down the book to try and sleep because Chaeng was right she was gonna be late.

[ Chaeyoung ]
"See you tomorrow?" he said and opened the door for me "of course, I will be here after school" I replied and walked out the door and over to my bike.
I put in my headphones and started cycling home. It was really dark but luckily I had lights on my bike. I hope Mina is sleep when I get back, me getting home late doesn't have to ruin her sleep.

I mumble along to the song while thinking about Mina. Smiling. I started going faster, I just wanna get home to her. Then I suddenly see headlights right on my right side, blinding me. I wake up but I don't remember falling asleep.
It's still dark but there are a few lights and I can hear some people yelling.

Am I lying down? I am. What's this fluid? I hold my hand up in the flashing light, it's red, blood. Mine? I try to figure out if I'm hurt but can't get up, only move my left arm. The yelling stops and I hear a car drive away. I feel myself getting sleepy again. But with all my power I get my phone out from my pocket, the screen is broken and I get cut as I find the number but I don't care.

My phone rings "Chaeng?" I hear a weak voice "I'm sorry" my voice is weak too. "I'm sorry for waking you" I cried "it's okay, where are you? Why are you crying?" she asked. "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry...I love you...Mina Myoui" I started falling asleep again "I love you too bu" was all I managed to hear before my eyes closed.
