I got into the drivers car, and asked them to drop me off at the nearest Talmart. They agreed and stopped at the front. With a final thank you, I walked off into the store and then into the box isle. I grabbed 2 large boxes and 2 extra large boxes, with the thought of using backpacks for a majority of my items.
"Boxes? Are you moving out?" Misha asked from beside me.
"Why the heck are you here?"
"I was thinking that maybe if I followed you home, we could talk for a bit."
"That's the worst way to do anything."I held my boxes and looked up at him.
"Why are you here?" I asked.
"You know... Buying tape because I accidentally broke one of the microphone stands at the studio."
"You need to stop breaking things." I smiled and started walking to the front.
"You should thank me." I looked up at him. "I got you that photoshoot."
"You did?"
"Yeah. They were asking me questions about you and I knew it was to tell if you were actually going to benefit them or not."
"Well, thank you." He went to the same register as me and watched as I paid for my boxes."Woah! Misha Gosslyn? Oh my gosh I love your music! I bought front row tickets for your concert!" The cashier covered her mouth.
"Really? Thanks!" He smiled. "There's a little something in it for the front row seats." He winked.
"Who's that?" She pointed at me.
"Just a friend. He actually encouraged me to start this so he deserves a bunch of credit. I was actually going to ask him to go on tour with me...?"
"What?" I asked and look at him. "Uh, Misha, you know how I am..."
"This'll be big for you."
"Misha, I've been kind of busy lately. I don't think I have the time but I dunno. Maybe next time or something."I walked off and the business car was still waiting for me. I climbed in with my boxes and told them to take me home.
When I arrived, I pulled all of my items inside and sat on the couch.
I got a call from a random number and picked it up slowly."Hello?"
"Yeah, Hello."
"Um... who is this?"
"Uh, that's not important." The person on the other side whispered. I hung up and googled the number. It was a number here in my state. This person called again and I answered it placing it to my ear.
"Wait, please..." he said "I was told to call you... by Misha Gosslyn?"
"Why? Who's to say I even know him."
"Jay, just go with it. Please." I heard further away from the phone.
"Quickly. I'm kind of busy right now."
"I'd like to meet you in person... the boy who dated my son..."
"No." I hung up again, annoyed that I even answered again.Throughout the two hours I was packing, my phone rang 15 times. I loaded my boxes and backpacks into my trunk, Kumar into my back seat, and finally handed my apartment keys to my landlord.
I drove down to the new apartments and let Kumar out. His legs were weak now that he was older which resulted in him falling. I scooped him up into my arms and walked in the building.
I rode the elevator up to floor B and began searching for room 37. After a minute of walking, I couldn't find it in the area and Kumar was getting heavy. I placed him down and sat against the wall in utter defeat."Have you found your room?" I look up and Mozes was standing over me.
"No... I have to carry my dog in but he's heavy so I'm taking a break."
Mozes bends down and tries to pick him up before I stop him.
"Wait." I say and hand Kumar my keys. "He'll bite you if he thinks I'm not coming back." I stand up and follow Mozes who was so kindly carrying Kumar.
We arrived at the room and I unlocked it to reveal a living room and a kitchen the size of my other whole apartment.
Mozes placed Kumar down and gave a quick tour."So your living room and kitchen are here, and then to the left, you have a small office. To the right, you have your bedroom, a guest bedroom and your bathroom.
"Alright. Thank you."
"I'll have some of my assistants help you carry in your things."
"Oh! It's fine... I've only got four boxes..."
"And you've got a pale face and 2 wounded arms." He pointed out. "Just bring them to your car and they'll get it all." Two men came by almost instantly and waited for me to lead them to my car.
I closed my door and walked with them, no words exchanged. I opened my trunk and they grabbed everything. Every single item. I lead them back up to my room and they put the boxes down and left.
