I placed my tea down and looked over at him.
"What's up?" He looked back.
"Nothing. Just want this week to end. I'm starting to feel sick again."
"Again?" He reached over and placed a hand on my forehead.
"You don't have a fever..."
"Maybe I'm just tired."
"It was a long week. Tomorrow is your day off."
"I know... do you work tomorrow?"
"I work every day."
"Never mind then." I pushed my slow growing hair back from my face and stood up.
"Jay, what's really wrong?""I don't know... do you ever just have days where you're just off for no reason?"
"All the time." He stood up and faced me. "But I think it's more than that." He looked into my eyes "Really. What's bothering you?"
"Mark, I... I feel like somethings missing. Like... a weird gap."
"In what?"
I thought for a moment and peeked at my phone across the room."Can I take the rest of the day off?"
"What?"
"I know but... I just need to do something..."
"Can't you go after work?"
"Please..." I held onto his hands and stared deeply into his eyes.
"Alright." He sighed. "But when you come back in on Tuesday you better be working hard."
"I will." I kissed his lips and touched his cheek. "Thank you." I pulled him in once more, then walked to my backpack."Wait..." He said as I touched the door knob.
"Yeah?"
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"I don't know. Somethings just kind of off."
I walked back up to him and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"I'll be back at the apartments around 6."
"Okay..."
"I promise I'll be safe. It'll be fine."
I left the room and quickly walked to the elevator. I called Allister and put the phone to my ear."Yo." He answered. "You never call me."
"I know... It's kinda odd." I smiled while stomping to my car. "I felt like something wasn't right. Maybe I haven't been with family enough."
"Maybe. I'm having one on one time with Jake so you can't come over. Mom and dad are also on a date so you can't go there either."
I turned the corner, knocking directly into a cup of coffee."I am so sorry!" I shouted and looked at the man. I quickly hung up on Allister and put my phone in my pocket.
"Slow down, you noodle."
"Noodle? You slow down, you... Match box."
"A match box?" Misha grinned.
"Yeah. Sometimes when I see you, you're a massive jerk and other times, you make jokes and call me a noodle." I shrugged and continued heading to my car.
"Hey, um..." He gripped my hand and glanced my way. "I'm a selfish jerk, alright? I don't know why you act like you care about me."
"Because... I do care... A bit..."
"Why though?"
"Because I was with you for so long. I just know how you get... But I never know if something you do is something you'll regret later. I usually just let you do it."
"And that's why...." He lead on.
"That's why I feel guilty around you. I'm no use to you. I'm just trying to do my job." I walked out of his grasp and made a quick turn to the elevator. I went up a few floors and stormed into Markus's room."Are you alright?" He stood as I closed the door.
I wrapped my arms around his body and held him tightly. He sighed and pulled me in closer. I felt a gentle touch on top of my head while tears formed in my eyes. Markus pulled away, walked out of the room for a few seconds, then came back in. He closed all the blinds, covered the door windows, and locked the doors.
"Come here." He gripped my hand and took me over to the couch. He sat me down beside him and then wrapped his arms around me."What's up? You were only gone for 5 minutes." He started combing through my hair.
"I don't want to talk about it." I wiped my tears away. "I just want to sit with you right now..."
"Alright..." he brought his legs up and pulled me in between. "Then just relax. I told security to keep this room locked under all circumstances."
