She drank water and flinched
As its taste -she had long forgotten-
Became foreign on her lips
And burned its way down her throat
As she now breathed the alcohol
Prisoner of its numbness
For she desperately tried to forget
He who had for so long
Been the reason of her breathing.
-and left her with empty lungs and a broken heart.
