What Could've Happened . . .

NOVEMBER DIDN'T KNOW how badly she missed Jaeden until he was gone. Sure, she acted like she hated him and part of her used to, but she doesn't hate him anymore. She's grown attached to the boy and what they both did was childish and petty. He would still be in her arms if she didn't lie about Dakota. It was just one of her many mistakes she regrets.

She looked at herself in the dirty mirror scrunching her face up because she thought she looked horrible. Nova took some water from the water faucet, flicking some excess off, and flattened her messy hair with it. She wiped off her damp hands on her jeans. Nova looked at herself, finally pleased at her appearance.

She exited the bathroom focused on making it back to the theatre so she didn't miss a scene. Of course being stupid, November bumped into someone filling their cup up with water at the water fountain. She felt some water go onto her shoe, causing her eyes to immediately look down.

"Oh, sorry." She heard the boy, whom she bumped into, mumble. Nova immediately recognized that voice. How could she forget? His voice soft and angelic. She made a joke once about how his voice sounded like someone who'd be afraid to hurt a fly. Nova looked up at him her jaw dropping due to shock. Her heart practically fell to the floor when she saw him. He looked even better than the last time she saw him.

Jaeden's heart was racing. His eyes zig-zagged across her face. He noticed how she looked like she had spotted a ghost. He didn't know how to react, honestly. His throat closed up so he was unable to speak. Jaeden was shakily holding his cup that had spilt half of the contents onto the carpet flooring. His cheeks became red from the embarrassment. But oh God was he happy to see her again.

"Hey," November breathed out, folding her arms. She licked her dry lips, not knowing what to do.

"Hey," Jaeden softly states in awe, unable to move. Being awkward teenagers, they stood there looking at each other. They both didn't know what to do or what to say or even how to feel. But they did know one thing: they both knew that they had no idea what the hell they were going to do. "I'm sorry about, um . . ."

"It's fine," Nova croaked, purposely cutting the boy off. She scratched the back of her arm nervously and watched as he stood there for a moment before throwing his cup away. He sat down on the bench beside the trash can, looking up at Nova. She walked over to him sitting beside him silently. Managing to keep her distance.

She put her hands on her lap, trying to think of the right words to say. "Why did you do it?" Jaeden asked almost instantly. Nova was taken off guard. She turned to him, biting her tongue. Jaeden turned to her, still stunned by her beauty nonetheless. But he got rid of the thought and remembered his question. "Why did you lie?" He kept egging it on demanding an answer. Nova's heart slowly started to sink.

"Jealousy," Nova whispered truthfully, even though it hurt her deeply. She pushed back her hair behind her ear. Jaeden nodded for a moment before running his hand through his hair. Nova's eyes watched as she played with her fingers awkwardly. "Why did you kiss her?" Jaeden instantly felt nauseous from her question and tone of voice.
