After the exhausting events of the past few days, you slept for 12 hours straight. When you finally got up the next morning and stepped outside your door, turning to walk down to the kitchen, you jumped. There, leaning against the wall next to your door was the angel.
"Uh, how long have you been there?" You sputtered groggily, still trying to rub the sleep from your eyes.
"Irrelevant." He smirked at first, then shifted his weight, looking down sheepishly. "I wanted to make sure you didn't have any nightmares."
You smiled at him softly."Okay. Thank you." You leaned into him and pecked his lips then proceeded to walk down the hall when only seconds later, an arm grabbed yours and spun you back around. Apparently the kiss you gave him wasn't long enough. He pressed his lips to yours, holding you closer. You finally pushed his chest away for air a moment later. All right then. Unexpected, yet also desired, you amusedly thought, immediately knowing after the fact that Cas had read your mind when he audibly chuckled.
Castiel grabbed hold of your hand and teleported you to the kitchen for breakfast where Dean and Sam already were, making Mary's Winchester Surprise, or as Dean described it, a greasy yet delicious heart attack on a plate. While you were eating you heard a knock at the door.
"You guys never get a break, do you?" You said jokingly, until you saw everyone else stand warily and grab their weapons from off the table (primarily angel blades, save for Dean dual weilding one of those with his handgun). "Wait, what's going-"
"We're not expecting guests. And if it were Crowley he wouldn't have knocked." You nodded in understanding and followed them close behind. Castiel grabbed your hand and pulled you behind him as Sam lead the four of you upstairs to the door and put his hand on the knob. He glanced at the rest of you, assessing everyone's face before pulling the door open, not expecting the other side to be unoccupied.
There's no one there? You thought. A beat.
"Hey," Sam said a second later, gesturing to the ground with his knife. There, just beyond the doorframe was a single candy wrapper.
You started. "Who-" and then you felt the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, an event closely following the very faint sound of fluttering wings.
"Well what do ya know! The gang's all here!" You spun around. The others raised their blades to the angel before you, who pulled you free of Castiel's grasp and smirked at your companions. "Surprise." And with that, the two of you had disappeared.
A/N: y'all should have known I couldn't just make an spn fic without including the best character at some point.
