I leaned up to sit on my knees in front of Rob. My hands moved up, making fists so I could rub the sleep out of my eyes.

Robert cooed, "You look so cute when you're sleepy."

I couldn't help but grin like an idiot when he said that. My eyes drooped as I turned and then laid back down, this time with my head in Rob's lap. His slender fingers ran through my knotted hair gently.

"Robert," I yawned.

He hummed in response.

"I have today off, remember? They don't need me for filming at the moment," I reminded him.

Robert's face was covered in guilt. "Oh yeah, we just filmed you disappearing. I'm so sorry, love. Go back to sleep, I'll try not to be loud."

"No, no, it's alright, I would've woken up naturally sooner or later," I reassured him. "Besides, I wouldn't miss a chance to be around you."

He chuckled. "If you insist. I'm going to take a shower, would you like to join?" He asked in a flirtatious tone.

My face flushed, "You know," I reached up, messing with the ends of his hair, "I'd love to, Rob, but I don't think that's very professional."

"Neither was sleeping with each other, but we still did that," He smirked.

I playfully slapped his arm, "Go take your shower, silly." I moved off of him, leaning up on my arms with my head tilted back so I could see him.

Robert groaned, "Fine, fine, don't have too much fun without me though."

I giggled, "I could never."

He got up, walking to the door. "Oh, and (Y/n)?"

I shifted, now fully facing him. "Yes?"

"You should come to my room more often," He winked, heading towards the bathroom.

Heat rose to my cheeks again.

That boy is something else.

I forced myself to get up. Since I'd be home alone, I thought I'd do something nice for Robert, he has enough on his shoulders already.

I made my way downstairs, stumbling a bit. I knew Robert liked bacon and eggs, so that's exactly what he'd be getting for breakfast.

I pulled a couple of pans and plates out. I sat the pans on the stove and the plates on a counter nearby before pulling out the uncooked bacon and eggs.

I allowed the pans to heat up and added a bit of vegetable oil so the food wouldn't stick, letting it settle for a moment.

The soft sound of water running began in the distance, mixed with the popping of the bacon and eggs. It was soothing in a way, knowing that everything was going good. Nothing could ruin this moment for me.

After the food had finished, I put two eggs on a plate and used a piece of bacon to make a smiley face. My hands grabbed a few utensils, which were cold to the touch, before placing them on a napkin next to Robert's now full plate of food.

I had just finished setting everything up on the kitchen table when I heard padded footsteps walking down the carpeted stairs. Robert pushed open the door to the kitchen, sniffing a bit.

"Bacon and.." He sniffed again, "Eggs?" He asked, hope present in his voice.

I nodded with a large smile. Seeing Robert happy made me happy.

He squealed like a little kid, rushing to the table. "Thank you, (Y/n)!"

I let out a breathy laugh, sitting on the opposite side of the table as he scarfed down the food. "If you'd like, there's more by the stove."

His eyes widened with glee, looking up from his plate. "You didn't have to do this, but it's highly appreciated," Robert mumbled through his occupied mouth.

"I owe you, after all, you're letting me stay at your house. The least I could do was make you breakfast."

He chuckled before swallowing. "Oh, darling, having you here is a pleasure. If you'd agree, I'd happily allow you to move in. Like I said before, I could get used to this 'we' thing."

I waved my hand, dismissing his offer. "I could never. You don't need someone else on your hands."

He shrugged, "Just know, I'd enjoy it if you did stay. I need some company, anyway."

"That rhymed!" I pointed out.

He laughed, getting up to wash his plate. I stopped him by standing in front of the sink before he could turn the water on.

"Rob, let me do it."

He shook his head, "I'm a grown man, I do my dishes."

"It wasn't an offer, I'm doing the dishes. You have a long day at work and you're running out of time to get there," I glanced at the clock.

Robert's head turned to look at the time as well. He sighed, turning back to me. "I suppose you're right. I have to get going. I hope you have good day, love."

I took the plate from his hand. "And I hope you enjoy work, please don't stress about anything. I've got it," I smiled reassuringly.

He hesitated, "I'll try not to, but you can't either, alright?"

I nodded.

"Thank you, again," He smiled, kissing my forehead.

A light blush dusted my cheeks for the third time this morning. "It's no problem, like I said, don't stress about it."

Robert seemed to have decided that one kiss wasn't enough, so he kissed me again, this time on the lips. My eyes closed and I sat the plate down behind me before wrapping my arms around his neck.

The kiss was brief, but passionate. I pulled at his curls again after we had separated, each one springing back into place.

"Go on, you're gonna be late," I mumbled. Although, I didn't want him to leave, he had to.

"Okay, okay, I'm going. I'll be back later, love. Buh bye," He waved, exiting the kitchen.

I sighed as I heard the front door open and close.

At this point, I had forgotten all about Payton. I started thinking,

If I could get over his death this fast, maybe what we had wasn't as special as I had convinced myself.

I stepped into my car. My stomach turned at the thought that (Y/n) might have left for some reason by the time I got back.

One thing in my mind lingered though,

She's a keeper.
