I was on my way to the office to drop off my stuff when I found that the door was slightly open.
Suspicious.
The door was closed and locked the night before.
How come it is open?
The tension rises.
Was Austin here?
No, the secretary would have come to me and would have directed a message or two about it.
She's not here.
Slowly, I walked towards the door and suspected on why the door was opened and slightly knocked on it and waited for a sudden movement or noise.
Silence.
I then said hello but later came no response.
Afterward, I slowly walked inside and placed my things on one of the client's chair and went back to the door to close it.
I sighed in relief.
Every time I enter, this office, I think about my younger days. At the time when I was in college.
Those days were bright.
Those days were unforgettable.
I remember being in the pouring rain under the big black umbrella. With a younger Y/N who was slowly trembling in sadness once she had to end her relationship from a tremendous heartbreak.
She didn't say, I knew it.
Excuse me ma'am need a hand?
She then turns around to see me with a hurtful expression. She was soaked, foot bare and was shivering cold. It made me wondered how long she was outside like this. Did she forget her umbrella somewhere? I wondered.
And I felt so bad for her.
You can't be standing there in the rain like that you'll get sick.
I started to think that I had upset her.
Why should you care? You don't even know me.
Then my mind went back towards the condition. Barefoot, soaked and phone exposed and knowing that she was having a hard time to adjust being single.
Because I know what it's like to have major breakups.
This had shocked her.
She must have been scared of my response.
Then afterward, my memory jogged from this particular scene to another. I was in the car with Y/N as I drove her to some parts of Busan.
The bridge, the beach, and a popular restaurant that she and I enjoyed once we dined.
