We walked up the stairs I noticed how laid back he was dressed compared to Tony, in only a pair of blue jeans and a plain white t-shirt. We reached the top of the stairs to a long hallway filled with portraits of family pictures dating back to what looked like the middle-ages because all the guys had wigs on and the ladies were almost cut in half from their dresses. He stopped in front of the only dark red door, opening it and gesturing for me to enter first. As soon as the door opened I was assaulted with so many different smells, some smelling like the outside and others that made my stomach ache in hunger.
There were many things to look at in this room. The walls were a dark brown that just peeked through the edges of all the picture frames. Most of them of landscapes and animals, one caught my eye. It was a close up picture of a wolf with piercing green eyes. The man came up behind me his hand resting on my lower back making me inch away from the sudden touch.
"That one is my favorite picture too." He said as I shifted further away from him when he went to put his hand on my back again. Those eyes were so powerful and I didn't want to stop looking at them but the man pulled my hand towards a long grand table. It looked to be big enough for a whole army to dine at. Above the middle, there was a large chandler lined with candles flickering from the slight breeze from the open window. At the center of the table there was a beautiful array of fruits and flowers all of which looked to be hand-picked from a garden.
I turned to the man to ask if they were real and if I can have a piece of fruit, only to be mesmerized by the way his hair fell and how perfect his hair seemed to be and the way his eyes glowed as he looked at me. I don't know how long I was staring but he looked to be just as enthralled in me as I was him. Our attention was taken away from each other and went to the door when some fancy dressed people walked in holding trays of food. As they passed me I realized how hungry I was since I had eaten in almost four days
"Please, let's sit and enjoy the wonderful food my family has prepared" he said as he pulled a seat out gesturing for me to sit in it. He walked around the table to sit across from me. I smugly smiled as I watched him stack his plate with tons of meat; his eyes widened like a wild animal about to attack its prey. I was freaked out by the realistic look in his eyes as if something was screaming to come out.
"Don't let all these foods go to waste. Please eat." He looked at me then to the food then locking back onto me. I think he is trying to bribe me with food and the charming smile for what happened before he was able to save me. I didn't want to be rude to him and have him mad at me and leave me back in that room with those people. I was aggravated at him for the fact that he didn't know I was here even though he seemed so keen on keeping me safe. My hunger took control and I took the spoon that was for the mac n' cheese, making a mountain of the golden noodle heaven.
A smile spread across his face as I began to eat the really hot food. It dropped when I had to spit the food into a napkin because it was so hot I burned my tongue. It tasted so good, I've never tasted anything quite so good. I felt bad but I couldn't handle the burning of my mouth.
"I'm sorry... I didn't want to spit, it...it-it was way too ttttooo hot. I couldn't keep it in my mouth. I'm so sorry..." I could feel my face reddened the more I spoke and it wasn't from the heat of the food. As I finished speaking the man got up and started to walk over to me. I felt a shiver of fear run down my spine as he got closer, he stood over me and just stared at me. He turned to grab a chair and pulled it close to me so his knees were touching my thighs.
"Never be sorry, precious. Its fine the food is indeed to hot but I can fix that for you if you would like?" he said as a question with one of those adorable tilts his head like a bird staring at you. I was in such a daze I only nodded my head while staring at this adorable man. I didn't realize what he was doing till I was greeted with the smell of the rustic style mac n' cheese being blown into my face. He was blowing on the food for me, like I was some child. I didn't mind though, something about him made it okay. Any other time I would be creep out by this but there was something about him that made me not want to leave him and keep him close to me.
