Chapter 1: Long Time No See

Its been a rough couple months now. I lost my mom in a car accident just a few weeks ago. Something that is really hard for me is that I didn't have my best friend to help me get through
it.
*Flashback*
"God dammit, Lauren!" Jacob yelled at me.

"You're so stupid!" Jacob continued screaming at me. I can't hold back the tears any longer. I started crying. I walked over to him and looked him straight in the face.

"Get. Out. Of. My. House." I said angrily. He is blaming me for the party he had that was at my house! It honestly makes no sense.

"Don't bother talking to me again!" Jacob yelled at me and walked to the door and slammed it shut.
*End of flashback*

Just thinking about that makes me want to cry. I just can't believe I lost my best friend over a stupid fight. Jacob was the best thing that I had. Now I don't even have that anymore.
*ding*

I looked at my phone and saw it was one of my friends, Alana. She was the closest thing I had now. My dad left when I was 3. Now I'm living with my grandparents. I unlocked my phone and looked at what she had said.

*Conversation*
Alana🙊: Hey! Do you want to come to my house and hang out with Jack and I?
Me: Sure! Which Jack?😉
Alana🙊: Dail. Which other Jack would I be hanging out with?😂
Me: Aye. You never know. What time do you want me over?
Alana🙊: Now would be perfect. Oh forgot to tell you. Someone else is coming over, but I'm not telling you who.
Me: Okay👍
*End of conversation*
I was already ready so I just grabbed my coat and started walking to her house. She lived about 5 houses down so I just walk there. I really hope it isn't Jacob who is coming. I don't know if I will be able to handle seeing him. He was perfect. Yes, I have a little crush on him, but that won't happen anytime soon. We basically hate each other.

I finally reached Alana's house. I walked in and saw Jack and her laying on the couch.

"Hi guys." I said. Alana and Jack both got up and hugged me.

"Jack can you be a dear and go get him for me?" Alana said sweetly to Jack. Jack just nodded his head and walked up the stairs.

"Please don't tell me it's who I think it is." I said and just looked down. I looked back and saw Jacob coming down the stairs. I couldn't help, but stair. He started walking over to me. I didn't know what to do.

"Hi, Lauren." Jacob said quietly.

"Hi, Jacob." I said trying not to look at him because I knew I would probably break down. I walked over to the couch and sat down.

"Lauren! Do you want something to drink or to eat?" Jack basically screamed.

"I'll take a water please!" I replied back. Moments later Jack came in with a water.

"Thank you, Jack." I said and took a sip. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Jacob and Alana talking. I honestly don't know how I am supposed to stay here and have Jacob here also. I want to talk to him, but I just can't. I can't find a reason to talk to him. He hurt me. Badly.
