Anne or beast ? (Part 1)

You suddenly began to feel conscious again and he felt a cold substance around him, a muddy substance even. It was then when he realized he was laying face in on a large mud puddle, Y/N shot up, lifting himself up and taking a deep breath, holding himself up by his hands, he then started coughing and gagging from the texture of mud in his mouth and not to mention he was blinded by the mud on his face, and also dazed and confused as to what happened, or even where he was, Y/N then called out for his friends
"Sasha ! Marcy ! Anne !! Guys !?"
He yelled while using his hands to scramble around the area his was at to find something to clean his face, or at least some kind of texture he could use to whip the mud off his face, as he did this, a voice responded to his yells
"Y/N?.."
Said Anne as she coughed and gagged seemingly right next to him from what he could hear, and from the sound of it she too had landed face first in the puddle of mud
"Anne!? What's going on!? I can't see !"
Said Y/N as he spat more mud from lips
"Me either dude ! I can't see anything ! Or even where your at !"
Said Anne
"Just follow the sound of my voice!"
Anne then reaching from where she could hear Y/N, then felt his leg as she crawled closer
"Y/N? Dude is that you ?"
Asked Anne
"A—Anne??"
Asked Y/N touching her wrist
"Y/N !"
Anne said excitingly, feeling for his sleeve and she then rubbed her face on it to get the mud off, and then shook her head a few times and blinked twice, as she then could see clearly, the first thing she saw was Y/N's sleeve and looking up at Y/N's face covered in mud
"Whoa, dude, we gotta clean you up, you look like the blob."
Anne chuckled
"Is now really the time !?"
Asked Y/N
"Dude come on, have a little fun."
Anne then looked around and her eyes widened as she glanced at the new world around her.
"Anne ? Where are we ? And I could use a little help here"
Said Y/N
"Dude, look."
Anne then whipped the mud away from Y/N's face with her hand, as he could finally see again.
Y/N then looked at Anne, who was now in shock, Y/N then looked around to see what it was Anne was seeing, and he was completely confused. He looked around to see he and Anne were in some kind of tropical jungle like area, then he looked up at the trees and saw giant insect like creatures flying around, ones unlike any insect he had ever seen, and by giant, I mean twice the size of any of the worlds largest living insects, he saw doubled in size dragonflies, centipedes, and crickets.
"Dude. Where are we !?"
Asked Anne
"I don't know ! H-how did we even get here !?"
But Y/N didn't have anymore time to chick, as he then saw a praying mantis standing over 12 feet tall towering over them, it then screeched and it raised its claws
"RUN!"
Y/N gripped Anne by the wrist and darted out from the mud and onto the grass as the mantis claw violently swiped downward making a dent in the ground, as Y/N and Anne made a run for it running through the strange plants that seemed similar to the plant life from the days of the dinosaurs, and even the hot and humid environment that felt like the areas of swamp waters, and could feel the ground shack under him feeling the mantis chase after him and Anne, he looked back briefly to see if Anne was okay, as she was still running in the same pace as him
"Y/N WATCH OUT !"
Anne screamed as he then turned and saw to his horror a giant spider web in front of him, his eyes dilated and he tried to stop in fear, but he and Anne just slammed their bodies right through the sticky webbing due to how fast they were running, and they tripped and fell over a rocky hill while also tangled in the webbing, they eventually made it down to the bottom of the hill, as he and Anne struggled to get untangled from the spider webbing, as Y/N then looked up and saw that the mantis had stopped when it noticed the giant web of the spider, as said giant spider than leaped down to the mantis and got into a brawl with the mantis.
Y/N then struggled to his feet and untangled and ripped the webbing from his body, as he then helped Anne up and ripped off the webbing from her body
"Whew. Thanks man."
Anne sighed and she and Y/N then heard the sound of thunder in the distance.
"Perfect.."
Y/N groaned looking to the sky
"Up there !"
You then pointed to your right to a cave
"Whoa, Talk about good luck!"
Said Anne, and you two ran for the cave before a little bit of rain soaked you.
"Dude...where are we?"
Anne shivered
"Don't look at me, I'm not the one who grabbed a weird voodoo witchcraft box."
You said
"....Fuck you."
Anne glared, crossed her arms and looked away
"You know ever since you started dating Sasha you really started turning into a dick. It's not like I WANTED to take that music box, it totally wasn't like I was being pressured or anything."
"Well, ever since I started dating Sasha you became more distant from me and eventually stopped talking to me."
You said
"Yeah because you two practically became the school power couple. And you and Sasha both were mean to me and Marcy! Or better yet, you actually just stand there and watch her do it! You never stick up for me anymore! It's like you don't even care about me anymore dude!"
You were about to object, you opened your mouth to speak but you didn't say anything. It was like a tight rope was around your neck and it was suffocating.
It was like the grip that Sasha had on you, suffocating grip on your throat in which you wouldn't speak even when she wasn't here. You had bottled up your feelings for so long that you didn't know how to express yourself anymore.
".......Huh. I guess I rest my case then."
She scooted around her back facing you.
"Anne....I-I'm...."
you held your tongue, and scooted to the other side of the cave, and cradled up, your hands crossed over your legs and your head lowered.
Neither one of You said a word to another for awhile, and just sat there in that cave together contemplating your situation, while it continued to pour and rain outside the cave.
After an hour or so, you looked up to see Anne shivering, it was obviously getting cold.
Anne's teeth chattered and held herself tightly feeing like a human ice cube, when suddenly she then saw You kneel next to her and begin taking your jacket off.
"Here. At this rate You'll freeze to death."
You handed her the jacket as she snatched it out of your hands almost immediately, slipping it on.
"Th-thanks..."
She stuttered, closing her eyes. Her breath could be seen as she talked in the cold atmosphere.
"H-hey...what about-"
Anne then looked to see you had already been finding and gathering wood, and dumping in the middle of the cave to start a fire.
"-You?"
"Don't worry, Making a fire."
You said lining the wood together and began clinching the stones together
"H-Hey, b-be c-careful, you c-c-could hurt yourself!"
Anne stuttered and shivered
"Remember in our science class when our teacher was telling about evolution and how primitive humans and Neanderthals made fire back in the day? I became so fascinated by it that I started trying it myself as a mini science experiment."
You said, as a spark of fire than started, and the flames grew bigger and hotter.
"Whew. Th-there we go."
You stuttered feeling cold without your jacket, as you sat down in front of the fire putting your hands out, as Anne scooted closer
"Whoa, n-nice!"
Said Anne
"I know right? I'm not as useless or spineless as I thought."
You shrugged
"Dude..."
Anne glared
"What?"
You asked
"You just need to learn to stand up for yourself. Like, you really need to, especially when I...you know...NEED you. And don't always let Sasha breathe down your neck."
Anne then bit her lip at the last sentence as she realizes she was being hypocritical, as deliberately got them into this mess because she couldn't muster up the guts to defy Sasha either.
Anne nervously scratched her hair, which unbeknownst to her was practically a big brown bush now with a few leaves and a twig stuck in it.
"...that...was a little contradictory wasn't it?"
You looked away
"...sort of."
You said, and the two of you sat in silence.
"Hey, look, the rain stopped!"
Said Anne, as you turned and looked outside
"Ah, finally! Now we can find out where the hell we are!"
Anne stood up
"Hey, it's nighttime, we should at least bring a torch."
You said picking up one of the pieces of wood with fire lit on the end
"Oh, good thinking dude, hey by the way here's your jacket"
Anne said about to take it off
"Oh no, it's fine. You can have it."
You reassured as you stepped out the cave
"Hm. Okay then. But no takseys backseys."
Anne smirked and followed out into the unforgiving foreign wilderness.
