I rolled unto the other side of the bed. At least...I tried to. The same strong hands that were wrapped around me tightly, the same hands that promised me comfort and peace. My eyes fluttered open and I was met with the sleeping figure of Dylan. His eyes and the corners of his mouth would twitch every now and then. He had a little scar bearly noticeable on his left cheek. His hair flopped over his face a little bit giving him a look of innocence. I reach out to touch the scar unconsciously. Just when my fingertip brushes against his warm skin, a small jolt erupted from where we touched. His eyes shot open looking straight at me, almost intimidatingly. His eyebrows knitted together in confusion and focus as he gave my body a once over before giving me a lazy smile. He watches my hand hovering in the air frozen in time.
His pretty eyes danced with mischief.
He took my hand in his and places a sweet kiss on each of my fingertips while not breaking eye-contact. What a beautiful man.
''Good morning, love. I take it you slept well since all you did was cuddle with me...not that I'm complaining,'' he said with a wink. I instantly flushed at his words and pulled my hand away gently.
"What do you have planned for us today?" I asked changing the subject. His eyes hardened.
"You're gonna have your first day of training. In order for your shift to be successful, you would have to prepare your body to withstand the supernatural entity that is your wolf. Only then when you shift, you and your wolf would become one." He explained getting out of bed.
I shrugged. I may have not mentioned but my dad used to be an underground fighter before he met mom. That's actually how they met. Dad trained me as a kid so a little session with gloves wouldn't hurt.
"It's no problem. I trained as a kid so this would be easy for me." I said confidently.
He gave me an amused glance.
"I doubt you would be so confident when Bailey holds you by your scruff." He said quirking an eyebrow at me finally wearing sweatpants.
I scoffed. "As if. My dad trained me well. I can have your ass in the dirt in no time champ." I said picking at him.
I shrugged again looking at him smugly. He looks at me before smiling.
"Your confidence is admirable. You would make an amazing luna." He said while picking up the familiar black box in his hands.
I flushed at his words happy that I was able to please him. He walked towards me putting his exposed torso on display. I watched him carefully not sure of his motives.
"My grandmother gave me this when I was a little pup. Told me to give my mate this. It's something I treasured. I wouldn't let anyone wear it. I was to give you on the day of the first attack but you know..." He trailed off looking away with focus etched into his features.
He sits on the bed with me caressing the smooth leather and tracing the branded initials 'E.S' lovingly.
"It's made of an extremely rare stone called a medias stone. It's the one and only of it's kind. This is my eternal gift to you, mate." He stares at me with a stare so intense with passion and affection I was taken aback. The sudden change in the atmosphere was noticeable and strange but I said nothing and neither did he.
He moves my hair out of the way and clasps the pendant around my neck. Engraved with words in what I would assume to be ancient Latin and white diamond. The titanium sat prettily against the dark skin of my neck holding the shimmering black stone.
It was a beautiful necklace. I teared up a little while I played with the stone.
He takes my hands in his and looks at me with innocent eyes.
