Breanna still felt torn as she shouldered her bag. What was she about to walk into? Would her parents be able to tell that she had changed? Would they accept her as she was or tell her she was following evil? All of these questions and more ran through her mind causing her to second guess the decision she had made that morning.
Elizabeth gently touched her shoulder and Breanna turned, the worry and fear still on her face. Elizabeth was carrying a carved wooden box with a triple moon carved on the top. It was beautifully decorated with Celtic knots and images of nature as well. "Breanna, do not stress over what is to come. If your family really loves you they will not turn you away. They may worry but they will never purposely hurt you. If it turns out that you are no longer welcome, or feel like you can't live next to them, I will be there." Breanna looked down at her hands, allowing the words to sink in fully.
Elizabeth, even though they had only been walking this path together for a short time already meant so much to her. She felt like family and it hurt to turn away from her to go back to the people that had caused her heartake and memories of the way she had left were bubbling back to the surface, making it that much harder to make the first step.
"I am afraid of returning even though I know that I must. I feel like it is betraying you and that they will never understand who or what I am now. How can I be strong and proud when my own flesh and blood thinks so differently? I just don't know what to do." Breanna fell to the ground, tears forming in her eyes. "Why is it so hard to step forward?"
Elizabeth gently sat down next to Breanna, setting the box down between them. "It is always hard to face change and as we are social creatures the fear of being outcasted is always something we will have to deal with. Remember though that you are not always going to match everyone's expectations or desires. What is important is that you match your own and that you know you are not alone. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of people out there waking this journey, including you and me." She paused, smiling softly as she looked Breanna in the eyes. " And not only that you are strong! You are strong and talented and the goddess is with you always. Both of them are and so are the elements. If you end up not fitting in with your family and past friends don't worry because you already have a place within you and all around you just waiting for you to accept them."
Breanna was still a little unsure but the words Elizabeth spoke were so full of love, care and certainty that Breanna felt like she could do just that. She already had her group and it was ever growing, even if it turned out that she would lose her past. Suddenly the phone call she made when she first joined Elizabeth came to Breanna's mind. Her mother hadn't cared that she had gotten mad she was just worried that she had lost her daughter. A sad smile crossed her mind and a foreboding feeling grew in the pit of her stomach.
Something was wrong. Breanna knew she had to get home and soon. Elizabeth felt the change in Breanna's aura instantly. She had become serious and concerned, determined with and an undertone of fear. Elizabeth felt shivers up her spine and she pulled the box forward. She felt the energy building in the room. Breanna was getting ready to leave and leave fast, Elizabeth didn't know why so she spoke quickly.
"I don't know what has happened but I am getting the feeling that you must move quickly, take this. It has all the basic tools to set up a ritual space. There are also a few books I think you should read. Message me when you get home and don't be afraid to stop by. We are linked through the ritual from three weeks ago and you have grown so much since then but our connection with never break. You always have a place here. Now go, answer the call of your intuition."
"Thank you, Elizabeth, for everything. When I return to you..." Breanna didn't know how to finish the statement.
"Don't worry about that just go! Take care of what you need to and remember the divine is by your side."
