Chapter14 The pre-rumble

Nats POV

Twobit and Ponyboy wanted to walk to the Dairy Queen so we did. They were walking backwards with their thumbs up and I was holding Twobits hand. "What are yall trying to do?" "Hitch a ride. Walking is overrated." Towbit said. "Well maybe if you fixed you tin can of a car we wouldnt be walking." I said being a jackass. "Well my car is being fixed thank you very much smartie pants." He picks me up over his shoulder spinning me. "Im gona hurl!" I scream and he puts me down as we approch the DQ. "Guys look who it is." It was the socs. "Baby Doll go on inside while we handle this." Twobit said to me kissing my cheek. I went inside and seen the conversation and Twobit called me to go outside so I did and we started walking back home. "What happened?" i asked as I was holding Twobits hand. "Were having a rumble tonight." He said to me. I was scared for them. Knowing the socs they would bring twice as many people then we would have. We got on the bus and went home. Later that night we were all sitting in the living room and all the guys were getting ready for the fight. "Ponyboy i think you should stay home you dont look so hot." Darry said to him. He really didnt. earlier he had a fever. "It would be different if it was knives and chains come on darry please.?" "Fine but if you see any weapons you run home." I was sitting on the couch tieing my boots up and Twobit stopped me. "Youre not going." He said to me. "The hell I am. One of the raped me I fighting." "You are not! You can come along but your not fighting and anyone that punches you. will be dead." I sat there. We all got up and went to leave. Steve got on top of the car and did a back flip. I remember when he did that in my front yard and hit his head. I still love him but I  have to work it out woth Twobit for the baby. When we got to the lot I was ready. Read to rumble.
