They always said the world would end. Life as we know it would change forever, and if we don't change our ways then it would come sooner then later. I was at the age of fourteen when the disaster struck. The signs were all there that the end would be happening sometime that week. To try to save humanity they were placing people on designated rockets, and shipping them off to the moon. It would be a new colony on a new rock. What happened next though, no one would foresee.
I was listening to music. I was a little upset that my friends were placed on one rocket, while I was placed onto the other. The rocket my friends were on took off. I look up smiling at the fact that we would be reunited sometime again. Just then an ear ringing boom echoed. A meteor had penetrated the Earth's atmosphere. It struck the rocket. On impact, the rocket exploded. Everyone but a few was frozen in fear, my parents included.
I tried my hardest to pull my parents to safety. They would not budge. "Come on!" I kept yelling as I pull their sleeves. Suddenly a woman had ahold of my hand pulling me away. "Leave them! We have to get to safety." She shouted over the screams of kid's and a few Adult's mainly the scientist and Military personnel that was there to keep order and track of everyone. "They're my parents I can't leave them there" I yelled back. I was frantically trying to pull away from the woman. She looked to be in her early twenties. We reached an underpass but didn't have the time to get into much cover.
The meteor made contact with the Earth. I thought, for sure, that we were going to die. The winds blew at immense strength that it had blown the roof off of many buildings. Glass shattered at the mere sound of impact. There were so many car alarms honking, but the screams, oh god the screams. They were the things nightmares are made of. I covered my ears to try to drown the noise out. Then Silence, everything black, I was sure that I was dead.
I still don't know how long I was out. I have been told that a piece of debris had hit me in the head. It had rendered me unconscious. When I woke up I heard gunshot's, no not gunshot's, helicopters. When I had slightly opened my eyes my vision was blurry. "Oh good, you're awake." A man's voice echoed in my ears. "You'll feel a slight pinch in your arm." I was confused about why he had said this. Then I got my answer. I felt a pinch in my arm. "What did you just do to me?" I asked frantically. I didn't know these people. I was scared. "You'll have your answer soon enough." His voice again echoed in my ears. I was suddenly dizzy. Then black as I had passed out once more.
Little did I know this would be Beginning. The battle of good and evil would start with that one injection. The society would rise up and fight against death. Light versus the Dark in people's hearts. Then there was me and I, I would be the weapon against it all.
