[Annabeth actually still isnt in the chapter but still...]
It has been some time since the war with Gaia and now, well, now a certain hero sat by the bay, watching the lake that mirrored the color of his eyes and wind swaying his raven dark hair back and forth.
He smiles.
The young man was simply at peace and in complete solitude when suddenly, a loud explosion erupted behind him. Acting upon his instinct, he stood and turned to the source of the sound, weapon in hand.
"What is it this time?" His smile fades as he thought grimly of what future danger might happen. Looking around, he narrows his eyes, scanning the area, slowly walking away from the sea and towards the Forrest. Even from a distance away, he seemed so strong and full of power, wearing the glare his enemies have familiarized with and holding the 3 feet bronze sword that glimmered beneath the light of the sun. He was ready to strike when he felt something grab at him.
He was alert and instantly moved away.
As he looked down, he was relieved to see that it was merely a vine that his foot got caught up in. He was even more relieved to see that the source of the loud bang was simply a demigod with his head on fire as twin-like brothers chased him around, occasionally attacking with the help of an insanely large flamethrower.
Just another day at Camp-Halfblood, I guess. Perseus "Percy" Jackson chuckled at the thought before continuing to jump in and distinguish the fires caused by his trouble friends.
...
Hours have passed since the whole "fire" incident with Leo and the Stolls, yet Chiron still kept on lecturing them about "safety" and some stuff like that. The 3 demigods honestly didn't care. What did they care about was the thought of violently punishing Percy for telling them on Chiron. Especially when he was practically provoking them by simply standing there and watching with a devilish grin on his face. Sadly enough, before they could finish, he had already left.
As he flew home on Blackjack, a million thoughts came on his head. Although one of them was obviously about the prank he had planned to pull on Leo and the Stolls, most of them included Annabeth.
The Daughter of Athena had left a week earlier than Percy, saying that she needed more time before to prepare before they could go to study in New Rome for college. She would take up on Architecture and he on Marine Biology. In spite of the fact they both of them hadn't exactly finished their past school years, their demigod heritage allowed them into the system. It felt like cheating but then again, a lot of the people in New Rome were also demigods and legacies. Each of them had some sort of blood from the gods.
"Annabeth...I sure would like to see her again." Percy thought out loud, slowly approaching his window.
"You okay, boss?" Black jack suddenly chimed in, his head poking through the window. Percy got off him and jumped into his room then subsequently responded with a nod.
"Yeah. I'm fine." Percy softly versed, petting the mane of the horse. "And before you could ask, yes I do have donuts."
The dark maned Pegasus mentally smiled then snatched the box of perfectly new donuts right out of his hands and proceeded to speed off into the sky. The son of Poseidon stayed there and watched until his friend was nothing but a dark and unnoticeable dot in the clouds. Moments later and he decided to greet his mom. The boy waltzes out and exit his blue, dimly lit, bedroom and into the kitchen.
As his nose caught the smell of freshly baked cookies, he grins and journies further into the apartment and was practically running. He surely surprised his mother as the both of them almost fell due to the son's immense brute strength.
"Oh my, Percy! Don't scare me like that! I almost had a heart attack!" Sally huffed, placing both of her hand on her hips and stares right into Percy's eyes.
"Sorry, mom. I was just really exited to see you." He sheepishly spoke and looked down to the ground, embarrassed.
Silence filled the air till Sally suddenly hugged the life out of her troublemaker son.
"I'm so sorry mom..." He repeats endlessly.
"Shh...I'm just so happy your home." She brushed her son's messy and untamed hair whilst her sudden tears fell on his sleeves.
She cries tears of joy and the realization that he was truly home made her grip and crying even stronger. She wouldn't stop but Percy didn't dare to move off of her. He really made her worry and she had greatly missed him. Besides, Percy was demigod strong, he could survive this.
Not.
His skin had started to color in the shade of purple and his breaths became shorter with every second that passed. He really was getting hugged to death. He had now started to choke and it wasn't until then that a gravely worried and relieved Paul Blofis entered the room.
The half blood thanked his step-father for releasing him and silently thanked the gods for his existence. He truly did love his mom and all but, damn, was she strong if she wanted to.
In the end, they all laughed the previous event off and minutes later would be happily laughing, smiling, and enjoying a very warm and welcoming dinner.
Little did Percy know, danger was once again crawling up to him.
Chapter 1 guys, I hope you liked it. For a first chapter, compared to my other works, 900 + words is actually pretty decent.
