I'll See You Soon

*couple of months later*

I've been helping Daniel pack for the tour all morning. The guys were coming to pick him up in five minutes. He places his bags on the front porch and turns to me.

"I love you." He tells me.

"I love you too." I tell him. I go to hug him and we share a long meaningful hug. "I wish I could come."

"Me too." He says. "You take care of Gracie and Goldie. I want pictures of the three of you daily." He says pulling out of the embrace.

"Of course." I tell him.

"I'll call you everyday and I will see you soon." He says.

The car pulls up.

"That's my cue." He tells me.

"Go on." I smile to him. He kisses the top of my head and picks his bags up. He puts them in the trunk and looks at me one last time. He gets in and shuts the door. The car starts to take off when his window rolls down.

"I LOVE YOU! I'LL SEE YOU SOON!" He yells to me.

"LOVE YOU TOO!" I yell back in response. I watch as his car drives off and stay on the porch until the car turns the corner. I head back inside and lock the door behind me. "It's just us now." I tell Gracie and Goldie as they walk up to me.

I hold my stomach as I feel uneasy. I bolt for the down stairs bathroom and throw up in the toilet.

"Jesus, of course I get sick as he leaves." I say standing up. I flush the toilet and head up stairs to my bathroom to brush my teeth.

I spend the rest of the day playing games. I go to bed to an empty bed.

"God I hate this." I tell myself. Goldie jumps in bed with me, taking Daniel's spot. "Thanks Goldie." I say rubbing her head. Gracie took her usual spot by our feet at the end of the bed.
