I wake up feeling the urge to throw up. I run to my bathroom. Goldie comes up to me concerned.

"Hey girl." I say weakly holding my stomach. Goldie leaves but comes back with my phone in her hand. I laugh. "Thanks."

I dial Gabby's number since we're I'm closer to her than the other girls. "Hello?" She says on the other end.

"Hey Gabby. After Daniel left yesterday, I've been really sick and I don't want to be home alone while I'm sick." I manage to tell her.

"No need to say anything else. Let me ask my mom she can baby sit." She tells me.

"Okay." I say and hang up. About thirty minutes later I hear her come in.

"Alyssa?" I hear Gabby call out.

"Up here." I reply. She comes upstairs and find me over the toilet throwing up.

"Oh god, are you okay?" She asks me.

"I think I have a stomach bug." I say. She comes up behind me and rubs my back.

"Let's get you in bed." She says helping me up. She helps me walk over to my bed and lay down. She turns on the TV in the room and goes down stairs to get me a glass of water and some crackers.

*two weeks later*

Daniel calls me every day, as he promised. Gabby comes over in the morning to help me, but then the rest of the day I'm fine. It's kinda weird. I take Goldie and Gracie our for daily walks in the afternoons.

I haven't told Daniel I was because I knew he would worry and want to come home. Gabby comes in one morning as part of our new routine. She's carrying a beg from CVS.

"What's in the bag?" I question her.

"A pregnancy test." She says pulling it out of the bag. I give her a look. "It won't kill you to take it." She says putting in my hands.

"Fine." I mumble and go to the bathroom. I pee on the stick and leave it on the counter. I sit down on the bed. "It's going to say negative."

"You might be right, but better safe than sorry." She says sitting next to me. "What are you going to do if you are pregnant?"

"Tell Daniel, and go from there. We are coming up on year of being married. This might be too soon." I say putting my head in my hands.

"It will be okay. Let's go check the test." She says standing up. We walk over to the counter and look at the test.
