ariana slowly made her way to the room number tom had texted her. it was the same day that she had texted him the album and almost immediately after he listened, he texted her, asking her to come speak with him. she had no idea what to expect or what to say, neither did he.

ariana watched as tom's face appeared in the doorway, they both instantly looked down, avoiding eye contact.

"you can, uh—you can come in," tom said. ariana swiftly made her way through the door. this wasn't them. they were never tense or awkward around each other. ever. ariana took a seat on the foot of the bed, tom sitting a little ways from her.

"how are you?" ariana asked him, she was trying to fill the silence. anything to break the tension, "haven't seen you since—," tom cut her off,

"since i walked out on you? i'm doing fine. how about you? how are you feeling after everything that's happened?" he asked.

"good, actually," she started, "i love where i'm at and the people i'm surrounding myself with," she said.

"so pete?" tom asked.

ariana's head quickly turned to look at tom, this was the first time she had looked at him since she's been there. she smiled, she loved him so much and to be able to finally see him again made her happy. tom's eyes met hers, she had yet to answer his question, she simply nodded and looked back down.

"i um—, i was in love with you," ariana started, "i don't really know when it happened. i think it was when manchester happened and how supportive and loving you were made me feel something for you. i didn't realize i loved you until after the ski trip in december," she looked up from fiddling with her fingers to see tom staring right at her, listening to every word, she quickly looked back down, "and when i told you i didn't want to give mac a second chance and you said i should had me thinking you didn't feel anything for me either so i didn't pursue anything. i just—wrote about it, and made a whole album about it," she said. tom laughed which made ariana let out a little giggle, "but then i met pete, and i fell in love with him so fast. everything happened so quickly, the engagement and what not. i almost feel like it's too good to be true. but i love him tom, like really really love him. i know you don't support what i'm doing, but i miss you so much," she said tears beginning to fall down her cheeks.

"do you still love me?" tom asked.

"of course i still love you, tom. fuck, i don't just write a whole album about somebody," she said finally able to look at him.

"hey, pete gotta song," he said trying to make a joke.

"no, i wrote that about you. your name was the title. i met pete and changed it," ariana said. tom froze, he had no idea what to say, "don't say anything," ariana said. she was too scared for his response.

"i think we should—just be friends," tom said, he was lying. he wanted to be with her, so badly too. but what was he going to do? he couldn't make her call off an engagement.

"me too," ariana said. they sat there in silence for a few minutes.

"tom?"

"yeah?"

"did you ever feel anything?" ariana asked.

tom nodded his head, "yeah. it was same as you, when manchester happened," he answered.

ariana smiled as she got up, "i'm glad we talked," she said as she held her arms out. tom stood up and embraced her in a tight, warm hug. she missed his hugs, he had missed hers too.

"me too," he said.

she opened the door to leave,

"oh and ariana," tom said as he turned around from grabbing a water out of the mini fridge, she turned to look at him, "maybe i still feel something as well."

she grinned at him from ear to ear and shut the door. she skipped down the hallway,

"i love tom holland just as much as he loves me."
