"wait tom, can we talk?" ariana asked as jacob, zendaya, and tom were leaving her hotel room. tom nodded as she sat down on her bed, they watched as the other two left.

"i actually need to talk to you too," ariana's breath hitched, those words coming from him scared her, "but you go first," he finished.

"okay," she began, she took a deep breath, "i um—i broke up with pete," she said. she watched as tom's eyes widened and he froze, "so do whatever you want with that information," she finished.

"look ariana, when we both agreed that we should be friends, i took that literally," he started, ariana nodding her head, understandingly, "so i started seeing people," he said. ariana didn't really react because she thought he was talking about past tense.

"what i'm trying to say," he started, noticing ariana wasn't getting it, "is i have a girlfriend," he said.

ariana froze, she felt her heart shatter into a million pieces. she didn't know what to say, neither did he.

she cleared her throat, "i'd rather be alone tonight, now that i think about it," she said. tom immediately felt remorse as he watched tears form in her eyes.

"ari—," she put her hand up interrupting him,

"i just need space tom, there's nothing wrong with that right? wanting me time? can you please just give me that?" she said trying the best she could to hold back the tears.

she watched as tom got up from the bed, "i'd love for you to meet her," he said. ariana so badly wanted to slap him in the face for saying that, but instead she put on a fake smile,

"that'd be nice," she said in almost a whisper.

ariana walked tom to the door, "i'm sorry," he whispered, stepping towards her. their faces were inches apart, ariana so badly wanted to kiss him. she would've too, if their conversation hadn't turned out the way it did. she looked down, resisting the urge,

"don't be. pete was all in my head—," she paused, "and i guess this was too."
