I woke up and was about to get out of the bed when I felt something next to me.

Maya was cuddled up into my side. I carefully got out the bed and went to the bathroom and did my business.

I brushed my teeth and took a shower. I saw my eye was super black.

I went back into the room.

"What the hell happened to your face." Jayden asked coming up to me and looking at it.

"I fought Mike last night. He was trying to hit me for being smart with
Him yesterday." I said.

"That's why he went to the hospital with a broken nose." She said.

"I don't think we can stay here much longer." I said.

"Where would we go." She asked.

"Anywhere but here." I said.

"How and we have Maya." She said.

"We can plan everything out. While I'm gone for my time I'll go to the store and get some things we'll need on the way." I said.

"Ok. When you go I'll start packing our stuff." She said.

"Y/n there's someone waiting for you in the front." Linda said.

"I don't have any family." I said.

"Go see." She said and I went to the front.

Brie was looking around the place.

"Hey Brie, What are you doing here." I asked.

"I was just coming by to see if you were ok. What happened to your face." She asked.

"I got in a fight." I said.

"Why did you get into a fight." She said.

"They don't treat us right in here." I said raising my shirt so she could the bruise.

She grabbed my hand and took me outside.

"They hit on you guys." She said.

"Some of them. If you don't listen or you get smart they come and take you in the middle of the night. I fought off Mike last night because I was 5 minutes late yesterday." I said.

"You can't stay here." She said.

"I know. Jayden and I were planning to leave tonight. We're taking Maya with us." I said.

"Where will you go." She asked.

"Anywhere but here." I said.

"Do you have a marker or pen." She asked.

I handed her the marker I had in my hoodie.

She wrote something on my arm.

"That's my address and my phone number. You can come stay with me if you want but if you decide not to at least keep contact with me." She said.

"Ok." I said nodding and she hugged me. I hugged her back.

"I gotta go but let me know if you need anything." She said.

"Ok." I said and she left. I went back inside.

I pulled my hoodie sleeve down and went back in the room.

"Y/n what happened to your face. Are you ok." Maya asked.

"I'm fine." I said.

"Who was it." Jayden asked.

"It was Brie. I told her what we were going to do. She gave me her number and her address. She told me to let her know if we needed anything." I said.
