CHER HOLLOWAY HAD IT ALL. Popularity, intelligence, prettiness, high fashion, and dozens of friends. With the world practically at her fingertips, she didn't expect an odd family of four to come in and flip her world upside down. Befriending the second eldest Davenport during Phys Ed ended up bringing about one of the few things Cher was not good at dealing with—doubt.

     And, of course, that came in the form of Chase Davenport. The youngest of the siblings may not have had most of what Cher had in school—in fact, on a surface level they weren't all that similar. Although, they did share one thing—intelligence—and it seemed like they just might be equals in that category.

     Angered by said revelation as Chase worked up the ranks of classes and ridiculous homework packets, Cher made it her mission to keep her spot as valedictorian by getting extra credit and always getting the best possible scores, but Chase met her beat for beat. With their competition and odd anger bubbling more and more to the surface, pushing themselves up is no longer the main objective—pushing each other down becomes more important.

    But, with their partner project, sharing so much time together, and a dance neither will forget—whether they like it or not they become closer. And it's hard to stay mad at someone that you like so much. Maybe a little too much to just be friends.

     Although, with the ever present mystery of just why the Davenports are gone half the time from school, Chase's random personality changes, and the complete lack of information on the infamous Donald Davenport ever having children—distrust blurs Cher's focus on their strange connection and she becomes oddly attracted to figuring out the mystery of just who—or what—the Davenports really are.

this is just a cute ass story with these fun dumb competitive nerds slowly falling for each other. that's it. end of story. kind of frenemies to lovers?

i still can't believe that lab rats is already 8 years old but yeah. damn.

also, cher is set up to be this seemingly "perfect" character on the outside to others, but she is not that. she is way more than that. she's developed 'n stuff.

also now that i'm using a youtuber as a faceclaim i am somewhat (ir)rationally terrified trin will stumble across this and make a video or tweet on it. it's happened before with other famous (?) people.

so, all i have to say if she ever reads this (highly unlikely) you're great and i love your videos. hope you're not too embarrassed by this.
