"A look into the past prepares us for our future."
Ziva David was a woman of many talents and gracious things but there were two things that she definitely was not: 1. a fool and 2. Boo Boo the damn fool. So when a certain pair of lace underwear appeared underneath her bed, she knew that she had been taken for a fucking fool.
Marcus was her fiancé's name and up to that point, Marcus had seemed to be the perfect guy. He had a nice paying job, was man of God (allegedly), and loved his momma. Basically, he was the man of any southern woman's dreams. So to find another woman's underwear underneath their bed- the bed THEY made love in- hurt her so deeply.
Ziva cried all night and after her 3rd glass of wine, she was angry. Though she was angry, she knew not to be relentless with her actions. Sure, bleaching his Armani suits would hurt him but she needed him to experience the same hurt that she had.
Marcus made the mistake of thinking that she was so dependent on him that she would never leave; maybe that was the case in the beginning, but to cheat on her in their own bed? He had crossed the ultimate line, disrespected her in the most profound way, and Ziva was not about to let him have the satisfaction.
Ziva picked herself off of the dining room floor and made her way up to their bedroom.
She pulled out her luggage and began to pack up everything she owned. After Ziva finished, not a single shirt, shoe or undergarment could be found. It was as if she was never there. She carried her things to her car and walked around the house to make sure not a single item could be traced back to her. She even removed her favorite ice cream from the freezer. Marcus would have nothing to remember her by, except maybe pictures on his phone but that wasn't any of her concern.
When Marcus got home from work that night, he was greeted to an empty house which was weird because he knows Ziva should be home. He checks his phone to make sure he didn't miss a text from her explaining her whereabouts. No texts, no calls, nothing. He makes his way to their bedroom and pulls out his phone to call her and as the phone rings he notices something on the nightstand.
Marcus was met with a pair of lace underwear with Ziva's engagement ring placed neatly on top. He fell to his knees, crying, because he knew he'd lost her.
While he cried over something he caused, Ziva was making her way back to her hometown to be with her family again.
