I was the reddest of reds,
Dripping drops of bleeding blood;
She was a canary yellow,
And we a poison orange
Of venomous hurt and pain.
She burnt a raging wildfyre
And left behind ashes grey.
Life became melancholy -
Each day, a tiresome affair.
Time crept abreast to keep pace,
The doors of Yesterday closed.
Life became a joyful faire,
Full of colours, bright and gay;
Joyous Scarlets, Grand Azures
Emeralds and Vermillions
Regal Purples, Warm Ambers
Soft Pinks, Alluring Silvers
Live with me in gladsome peace
And happiness shan't flee me .
