Surprise

Andy's POV

Rye and I walked down the stairs meeting Robbie and his girlfriend Ella.

"Are you two ready to go?" Robbie asked with a smile on his face.

"Yeah sorry it took us so long Andy distracted me" Rye said sending a wink my way. "Ryeee" I said shoving his arm.

"Alright love bird let's go we have places to be" Ella said grabbing Robbie' s hand pulling him out the door. Rye and I followed behind them getting into the back seat. When we are all settled Rye held out his hand. I interlocked our fingers and placed our hands on Rye's lap. I could tell he liked my hand being so close to him. He let out a small gasp when I moved our hands up his thigh. I love teasing him. I know I probably shouldn't but I can't help it.

When the car stopped I looked up and noticed where we were. It's a small movie theater near my old house. This is where my mom and my stepdad would always go when they wanted to get away from me. I'm nervous. What if they're here? I know Rye could tell I was getting nervous. He untangled our fingers and wrapped his arms around me engulfing me in a tight hug. I didn't even notice the tears running down my face til Rye dipped them from my cheeks.

"Is everything ok back there" Robbie asked turning to look at us. I couldn't respond. I think I'm having an anxiety attack. I began to speak but Rye stepped in "Yeah I've got this. You two just go in and we'll be there in a minute." Rye said calmly as he rubbed my back.

They shrugged it off and went inside leaving Rye and I in the backseat of the car. Before I could say anything Rye spoke up "Andy you don't have to say anything if you don't want to but I'm worried about you. What's wrong?"

"This is the movie theater that my mom and my stepdad would always come to when they were mad at me. What if they're here? What if they see me with you? Rye I can't lose you too." I tell Rye whispering the last part.
"Andy. You're not gonna lose me. If they're here we will watch our movie and enjoy our day. They won t hurt you ever again. I won't let that happen. I promise" Rye says as he leans in closer to me. He reached up touching my chin with his fingertips and pulls me towards him our lips connecting in a passionate kiss. I never want to let go. I think I'm falling for him.

"Let's go inside" I say as we pull away from each other. Rye opens the car door taking my hand in his. We walk into the theater. Robbie meeting us by the door with our tickets in hand.

We found a seat that everyone was comfortable with and sat down. I tried to distract myself from the thought that my mom and stepdad could be here right now. Rye had his hand on my thigh rubbing it lightly in an attempt to sooth my mind. I looked down at his hand smiling to myself. How did I get this lucky?

The movie began and immediately my eyes were glued to the screen even though I had a feeling someone else was staring at me the whole time. I didn't look away because what if it really was them?

~The end of the movie~

"That movie was so good." Ella said standing up next to me. I really like her she seems very nice. Her and Robbie are also so cute.

"I know. I've never been more invested during a movie" I said adding on to what Ella had previously said.

We all walked out of the theater to the car. Rye had been a bit quiet since we left the theater. I have no I clue why. Did he not like the movie?

"Rye what's up? You seem quiet" I whispered to him trying not to cause another scene. "Nothing, I'm fine." Rye responded very quick. He didn't seem irritated or anything just a little off. I can't really place it.

We kept driving and eventually we passed the house. I'm confused I thought we were going back home?

"Robbie where are we going?" I ask with a confused tone. "Somewhere very very special" was all he said back. I decided to text Rye knowing he wouldn't answer me out loud.
