"AVA IF YOU AREN'T OUT OF HERE IN TWO MINUTES I WILL BREAK DOWN THE DOOR!"

Iris yelled as she crossed her arms over her chest and stood in front of the bathroom.

It had only be 13 days since Ava had moved in and Iris was already on edge.

Ava stumbled out of the bathroom smiling at her older sister.

"What was taking you so long?" Iris asked as Ava just blocked the bathroom entrance.

"I had to wash my hair."

Iris raised her eyebrows.

"Do you not do that every time you shower?"

"I don't think you're supposed to, is that why you look like you have a mop on your head?" Ava replied ducking out of the way of her sister's hand as it swung at her.

She walked down the hall as she heard Iris go into the bathroom.

"Good luck at your interview!" She heard Iris yell as she grabbed her application off the table and headed out the door.

Ava decided to bike because her sister lived just outside of the small town and she didn't have her drivers license because she was a god awful driver.

She hoped she could land this job so she could finally start getting some money, and by default, some good fucking food.

All her sister ate was fruit and green shit so by default she did too because her sister said,

"If you don't want it, go buy something else."

So here she was.

In front of Hawkins very own movie theater.

Ava hopped off her bike and locked it on the small bike rack.

She thought about her dad and how he would have loved visiting her at the movies while she worked or how if she got the job, the smell of popcorn would probably become unpleasant.

Ava hadn't realized that while caught up in her thoughts, her legs had kept moving and she was inside the movie theater.

Oh well, she thought, here goes nothing.

-

Ava hummed as she rode down the side of the main road in Hawkins.

She had been hired on sight and she started the next Tuesday.

She had stopped at a pay phone to call and tell Iris who had told her to rent a movie on her way home to celebrate.

Ava almost missed the video store due to the arcade that she would definitely have to come to when she got the chance.

The girl hummed as she walked in the video store, a small bell ringing as she entered.

It was mostly empty but she heard from somewhere in the back.

"Hi!"

Then the sound of someone knocking over a stack of movies, and two people coming out to greet her as they "quietly" argued on their way to Ava.

"You literally have two left feet, dingus."

"Yeah well... shut up."

Ava stood on the opposite side of the counter as she looked over the two workers.

One was a tall boy with hair that Ava would honestly kill for.

The other was a smaller girl with dirty blonde hair and eyes that looked like the ocean.

"Welcome to Hawkins Family Video Store, I'm Steve, this is Robin, how may I help you today?" The boy said as Ava just raised her eyebrows.

The girl, who he had introduced as Robin rolled her eyes and seemed to smile at an inside joke.

"Hi Steve, Hi Robin, nice to meet you guys, do you have Jaws?"

"In the back, on the wall, to your left." Robin replied after a moment making eye contact with Ava for the first time.

Ava smiled at her before heading to find her movie which she did very quickly.

When she returned only Steve was there.

"Are you new in town?" He asked as he rung up Ava's movie.

"Yeah, just moved here like two weeks ago. It's definitely different then where I'm from."

"And where's that?" Robin said walking from around from behind a shelf.

"Well I lived in Chicago, but then I moved to Philly a couple years ago, and now I'm here." Ava said smiling.

"Well Welcome to Hawkins." Steve said handing her the movie.

"Thank you, well nice to meet you Steve, Robin, maybe I'll see you guys around."

Ava gave them both a small smile as she walked out of the store and hopped onto her bike, placing the movie in a small basket that was attached to the bike.

The sun had almost disappeared when she pulled into her sister's driveway.

She opened the front door to find her sister half asleep of the couch.

"Iris wake up!" Ava yelled jumping on the couch, effectively waking the older Sparks girl.

"Jesus fucking Christ Ava!"

Ava just laughed as Iris pulled the movie from her sister's hand.

"Ava, you know I hate this movie." Iris whined.

"Yeah but it's great, so get the popcorn and the drinks and come on!"

It took the girls about fifteen minutes to actually begin watching the movie.

Ava curled up next to Iris as the movie began, forgetting about anything outside of their house.
