Prompt: Robin and Regina are together when he is deployed. After she learns that she is pregnant, Regina is visited by two soldiers who tell her that Robin is presumed to be dead. She goes through the entire pregnancy on her own, but Robin eventually gets home.
Thank you, Andrea_Vicky_23, for the idea 😊

On January 15th, they parted ways. Their story had split up into two different ones, and another meeting between them would be impossible for the next half a year. Robin had been recruited as a soldier, leaving Regina behind after only a few years of marriage. Because of his age, he did not expect for his presence to be requested among the troops, but life proved its unpredictability once more. It was a cold morning when she walked him to the airport, and none of their friends joined them. Maybe they wanted to give Regina and Robin a few more moments alone, or they simply could not bear to accompany him on what might as well be his last time leaving the town.

She promised him she would not cry, but as soon as she saw the plane taking off, heartbreaking sobs took over her body.
He promised her he would be brave, but once the plane left the ground, he broke down in front of the other men.

On January 30th, Snow managed for the first time in weeks to remove Regina from the house. She said something about needing help with the baby shopping, and David not being available, so Regina agreed to help the pregnant woman prepare for Neal's arrival. It only took that day for Snow to figure out that something was going on with Regina, even though she seemed not to notice. She was extremely sensitive to the smells surrounding her and constantly took a few seconds after sudden movements, accusing dizziness. At the end of the day, Snow bought a pregnancy test for Regina and begged her to take it.

On February 5th, almost one month after Robin left, Regina took the pregnancy test. The few minutes she had to wait were the longest she had ever experienced, but they did not even compare to the hours she spent crying alone after seeing the two lines. It took her a few more hours before she phoned Snow and Emma, and even then, she could not say more than "I don't know what to do." Both of them understood what she meant, though, and instantly appeared at the brunette's door.
They spent the rest of the day in silence, occasionally assuring Regina that she was not alone. The women were sipping from countless mugs of tea and waiting for the others to say something, neither one of them knowing how to tackle the situation. It was already past midnight when Snow announced that she needed to go home, because the pregnancy was making her way more tired than usual. When mother and daughter were close to exiting the mayoral house, Regina managed to gently grab Emma's hand.

"Please, stay, " was all she said.
In return, she got a concerned look and a firm nod.
During the early hours of the morning, Regina woke up from her place on the couch and saw that Emma was still awake.
"How can we help, Regina?" she asked.
"I... I just do not want to be alone. I do not know what to do, he was supposed to be here for this," Regina answered.
"How far along are you?" Emma asked.
"The test said 7 weeks. He will be here for the final weeks of this pregnancy, if I am lucky," she said.
"You know we will be here, although you can get through this even on your own. You did it with Henry," Emma said.
"I do not want to do this on my own. I need him here, and I do not want him to miss this," Regina said.

On April 27th, Regina opened the door to see two soldiers with their hats taken off their heads. Her knees instantly buckled underneath her and the men had to rush to catch her before she fell. Regina knew what this meant, and was absolutely positive that she could not take such news. They told her that Robin's camp had been attacked, and once they were moved to a safer place and the soldiers were counted, he was one of the men who were not present. However, his body was not found. The men then gave her the national flag, some of Robin's belongings and thanked her for her husband's service. If there was anything harder than telling a wife that her husband had passed away while deployed, it was to find the said wife pregnant.
