Picture of what Red looks like to the right side

My names Red Skylark. I'm eighteen years old and live with my father. I have no siblings and my mother died when I was five she was killed by werewolves yes supposedly the werewolves killed her and they exist. Ever since her death my father has become an alcoholic he's barely ever home any more. I have my mother's pink full lips, thin but curvy figure, my father's blue eyes, and long brown hair.

I guess you probably are wondering why my name is Red. Well I'm not really sure my mother just chose to name me Red. I don't have many memories with her but I do have one things of hers that I cherish the most her red cloak. I wear it as much as possible its like a blanket that keeps me safe and happy. I'm very pretty you could say which means I get a bunch of horny guys lusting for me and hitting on me. I've had many try to get me to marry them but it never works I always just decline their proposals.

I live in the village called Blackthorn. It's surrounded by the woods which is supposedly full of werewolves. But I think that's just a myth because I go through the woods almost every day to see my grandmother and not once have I seen a werewolf or found any signs of one living in the woods. Blackthorn is a small village and most of the people in the village believe in the werewolves besides my friends William, Meredith, and I. The villagers sacrifice our best livestock every full moon to the werewolves. Each full moon the livestock is taken which I think some kids just take the livestock so everyone believes it was the werewolf who really took it.

My friend Meredith was now running up to me. "Red!" She squealed. "What is it?" I asked. "You know what tonight is don't you." She said. Of course I do its a full moon tonight and this stupid festival. "The full moon and the festival."I replied bored. She smacked my arm and grinned. "Oh come on show some happiness about the festival at least! There's going to be drinks, dancing, and the werewolf is suppose to visit us and take our sacrificed livestock." Meredith said. "I'de rather just go visit my grandmother and stay for the night at her cottage." I said. "No come on please at least come later please for me" She pleaded. I let out a sigh. "Fine I'll go later tonight but after I visit my grandmother." I said. Meredith squealed and jumped up and down than grinned at me and gave me a hug.

"Do you think William will dance with me?" Meredith asked then started to blush. She has this major crush on him. "I don't see why he wouldn't" I replied. She grinned at me. "Your right! I just wish he would notice me like he notices you." She said. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Are you kidding me have you not seen the way he looks at you! He has feeling for you Red!" She said a hint of jealousy in her voice. "Well I don't see him as anything more than a brother he's all yours." I said. "And I thank you for that." She said then hugged me and ran off to get herself ready for the stupid festival.

I made my way back to my small house only to find my father laying on his bed drinking once again no surprise there! "Father." I greeted. He looked at me and nodded. We never really did talk much after my mother's death. "Will you be visiting your grandmother today?" He asked. That seemed to be the only thing he ever asked me because it involved me leaving the house and getting out of his sight. My father never could be in the same place with me for a very long time. "Yes." I replied. He just nodded took another sip of alcohol and laid back down. God he's horrible he disgusted me more than anyone else here in the village. Okay maybe not as much as Wren. Wren's my age and has been trying to get me to marry him since we were sixteen. I hated him he always flirted and touched me!

I looked at my father one more time before I left the house and headed to the village gate. Once I got there I saw William he must be controlling the gate today. "William." I greeted. He smiled at me. "Well what brings you here Red." William said. "Oh nothing much just going to see my grandmother." I said. "Like usual." He replied. "Yep but don't worry I'll be back for the festival." I said. William grinned at me and opened the gate. "Then I'll see you there." He said. With that I walked out of the village and headed onto the path towards my grandmother's
