Years have passed since Erah trailed through the woods, on a quest to find something more. She had arrived at the city of Dephia, and the moment she entered the city she knew she would find what she was looking for there. At the time, she hadn't known. . . and she still didn't. All she knew was that Dephia was much better than the village the Soulseekers called home. When she arrived, people took pity on the girl and took her in for short times. But as Erah grew, she realized she would have to find a way to earn money. Dephia was a lively village, with constantly crowded streets, with the sound of vendors shouting out their prices, and mothers and housekeepers rushing around trying to finish all the shopping. Children would wind between peoples legs playing games, and minstrels singing their songs out for the world to hear.
On the far side of town was the Castle, towering over the village on top of a mountain. It was said that the Castle was enchanted and had somewhat a mind of its own, and once had protected all the citizens of the city by growing its walls to an immense height and then magically making secret escape tunnels so that all the citizens would be able to run somewhere where they would be safe. It was said that since then the castle had always watched over the city and protected it from invaders. So because of this, the Castle was always spoken of with great respect and was very well cared for, even if no one knew for sure if the rumors they had heard were true. But it was not only the Castle that was an object of great respect.
Queen Christaire and King Terric along with their four children were also very well known and respected by the rest of the city. The eldest child, Princess Isylte, at the age of Seventeen, was known throughout the land for her extraordinary knowledge and wisdom. The second oldest, Prince Miles was Fifteen had a bit of a mischievous streak in him, and everybody knew it. His favorite pastime was pulling pranks on anybody he thought might need a little excitement that day. And he was really, really good at it. He was almost impossible to catch in action and when he did get caught he would worm himself out of trouble with his golden tongue. The next child in line was Prince Allan, who at the age of Thirteen had recently left to study at the great and renowned Abouperra, Academy Of Sorcery, and as soon as he returned he would be made Court Mage. And finally the youngest, but likely most well known Princess Adelena. At the mere age of Eleven, Princess Adelena, more commonly known as Princess Adey was considered the kindest, most beautiful person in the entire land. She had long and smooth red hair and flawless pale skin. Her smile was bright and welcoming and could liven even the darkest of days. Prince's all over the land waited for the day when she would be old enough to be wed.
When Erah had just turned nine, she had started to work for a lady who sold fresh bread in the market, and Erah enjoyed working for her, but over time the work grew to be boring and Erah decided that she would find a new job at the castle. At this time, Erah had just celebrated her fourteenth birthday and she thought that was the perfect time to leave and try something new. So Erah left the humble little bakery and started walking up to the castle. As she was walking, Erah noticed two guards protecting something. Erah walked over to try and see what it was they were shielding, and she saw that they were shielding a person who had been hunched over a little boy who had scraped his knee. The little boy smiled and ran off. The figure the guards had been protecting stood and turned around. Erah gasped. The girl was beautiful. She had fiery red hair and creamy skin, but the most remarkable thing about her was her smile. She had the biggest brightest smile Erah had ever seen. The girl noticed Erah and smile grew even larger if that was even possible. Erah blushed and bowed quickly. When she looked up, the little girl was right in front of her.
Erah gasped and bowed even lower when the little girl spoke in a smooth and silky but also bright and happy voice; "You don't have to bow! No one else is here! Save the formalities for more formal events! My name is Princess Adelena, but I do prefer to be called Adey. What's your name?" Erah straightened herself up and hurried to smooth out her clothes. "Um... My name is Erah. It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Highness!" The Princess giggled. "Please, call me Adey!" Erah smiled a little. "If that is what you prefer, Your- I mean u-um Adey. I-i saw what you did for that little boy. You are really quite kind." The Princess giggled again. "Thank you for noticing! Most people don't pay attention to what I do. They mostly just flirt or adore my beauty or something like that, so it makes me feel quite happy that you noticed. So, Erah right?" Erah nodded "That is really quite a lovely name!" The Princess smiled, which made Erah smile too. "So, Erah, what are you doing in the market today? There aren't usually many people in the market on Sundays, so I like to come on a little walk because its nice and quiet." "W-well, I was actually headed to the Castle. I wanted to become a servant there. . ." Erah trailed off. "Really!! That's perfect! Recently, one of my personal servants retired, and I have been in need of a new one. Come with me. We are going to go back to the Castle and I will request you as my personal maid. Come on!!" Then the Princess turns around and runs in the direction of the Castle, with her guards following close behind. Erah stares, shocked by what just happened but then realizes that this is a great chance for her to start anew. So, Erah starts running after the little Princess who just changed her life.
