"Thank you," Adey responded. "But don't forget, your my brother's maid too!"
Erah didn't quite know what the princess meant about what she had said, and she wasn't sure why she would say something like that. She figured that she would probably be with the young princess more than she would with her mysterious brother. But, Erah also thought it would be worth getting some more details about him, since she was, of course, his maid too. "Well, since I am "his maid too' why don't you tell me a bit more about him?" "Okay, let's see," Adey said, giggling slightly. "Hmm, actually maybe it would be more fun for you to wait until you meet him! I mean, it won't be a long wait since you'll probably meet him tomorrow." Erah looked at Adey. She thought she saw a mischievous glint in her eyes, but she couldn't tell for sure because Adey clapped her hands together and turned around. "Well, I think since today is your first day, we should explore the Castle a bit. Then you'll know how to get from place to place without getting lost!" Erah nodded. In all honesty, she didn't think that one quick tour would help her too much, but it would at least give her somewhere to start. "That sounds amazing. Where will we start?" "Probably the kitchen. But first, I have to change into something else. Come help me choose!" Adey smiled and went towards her closet. When she opened the door, Erah's eyes widened once again.
The 'closet' was less of a closet and more like a small room. There were dresses upon dresses of all sorts of different colors. There was an entire wall dedicated to shoes that ranged from fancy high-heels covered in diamonds to simple leather flats with scuffed up toes. Then there was the jewelry display. Adey probably had enough jewelry for the entire castle to have something. She had necklaces hanging on hooks tidily organized, earrings carefully hung or clipped on a huge holder. Besides that, there were a few tiaras for special occasions and a small assortment of various hair clips and pins. Adey walked over to the dress section and started looking through the more casual dresses. She motioned Erah over to look at a dress. Erah thought it looked really pretty, and so when Adey asked if she thought she should wear it, Erah nodded her head yes. Adey smiled and ushered Erah out of the room while she got dressed. When Adey came out a few minutes later, Erah smiled. The dress was a soft cream color with a small leather half jacket sewed on. There were small leather stitching patterns on the bottom rim of the dress, and there was a small leather rope tied around her waist. Her red hair was down and added a nice burst of color. Altogether, she looked flawlessly perfect in every way.
"So? How do I look?" She asked, giggling. "You look adorable!" Erah responded. Adey smiled and hugged Erah. "Thank you Erah! Are you ready to go?" Erah nodded in response. "Okay then. Follow me!" Adey opened the door to her room and started walking to the kitchen. When they got tho the kitchen, Adey got them each a slice of bread and a handful of blueberries, before they continued to see the dining room, library, council room, and various others Erah couldn't even name. Finally, they started heading upstairs where all of the main bedrooms were. Adey showed her the Queen's bedroom, before moving down the hall to her oldest sister, Princess Isylte. Adey creaked the door open slightly and had a short conversation with the princess, before nodding and closing the door. "She says this isn't the best time to meet her. She's working on some sort of experiment and needs to focus. You'll probably meet her tomorrow." "That sounds interesting. Does she like science?" Adey nodded. "She loves it. It's her passion, and I don't think she'd give it up for the world!" Erah nodded. She had some 'hobbies' when she had been living with the baker, and she loved them even if they made the baker pretty mad. Erah smiled to herself.
They kept walking down the hall, walking slightly slower than before heading for the next room. The door was a simple wood color and had the name 'Miles' engraved on it. "Adey, who's Miles?" Erah could swear she saw the mischevious twinkle in Adey's eye, but it was hard to tell. "He's my big brother!" She said before turning and carefully creaking the door open. The door opening had a strange sound Erah was very familiar with, considering she heard it many times at the bakery. She rushed forward and pulled Adey back carefully, before pushing the door open with her foot swiftly. When the door opened completely, a huge rush of water fell onto what, if the trick had gone right, would have been Adey. Erah heard a groan of disappointment from inside the room, "Dang it! It didn't work!". Erah grinned. "So, Prince Miles is a trickster! This is going to be fun." Erah double-checked for backup pranks, before walking into the room. On the bed sat a boy who looked to be about Erah's age. He had messy reddish-brownish hair and pale skin that looked a lot like his sisters. When he looked up and saw Adey he stood up and smiled. He was tall and slightly lanky, and his smile had the obvious hint of a trickster. Erah knew that smile. It was one she used to wear a lot, and she had always missed wearing it. But you promised yourself! The day you decided to come here, you abandoned that life and that smile. But you knew all along, didn't you? You knew I would come back to this life! You knew my promise wouldn't last long! But, if you did why would you make me promise that? I never understood you.
Erah smiled as well. "So," She said, drawing Miles' gaze towards her. "The prince is a trickster! Oh, this is perfect!" "Erah, what are you talking about? Why is that good? Usually, people get mad at him for his pranks!" Adey said. Erah's smile grew, a touch of her old self shining through. "Sorry, I'm just going to but in here. Who are you?" Miles looked to Erah. "My name is Erah. I am your new maid. And, Adey I have a little secret to tell you, but that will have to wait until later." Miles turned to face his sister. "When did she join? Why didn't you tell me?" Adey giggled slightly. "She joined today! Isn't it great! I met her in the village walking to the castle to apply for a job as a maid here! So, I asked Mother if she could work as our maid, and she said yes! She is really nice, but when I met her I could tell she had some secrets, but I didn't tell Mother that because I really want her to be our maid." Adey gasped, having rushed her speech so much she couldn't breathe. "Hmm. Okay, well then it's nice to meet you Erah." Miles said, with the same mischievous smile as before. "Nice to meet you too, Prince Miles."
