Chapter 12: "That's Jason...."

Monday 28th October, just three more days till Halloween, something still enjoyed by the teenagers of the Cul-de-Sac.

Kevin was inviting people to his house for a Halloween costume party, and he sure didn't forget about the Eds. First period had Double D and Kevin sitting next to each other, so he decided to give Double D all the details he needed to know for Thursday, he even nudged him to bring Marie. It seemed that the Kankers were slowly being accepted by their childhood schoolmates, it was likely due to their behaviours being more welcoming, well, some more than others.

Eddy walked down the hallway heading to his locker when he heard a young woman across from him, "Here you are, always looking good, Eddy." He stopped and began to smirk as he turned around. When he did, his smirk dropped.

"Oh, great. It's just you."

Lee laughed and walked up to him, "Better to hear that from me than anyone else! You know, I've been thinkin'. Maybe someday, you and I can work together. Ya know, scheming," Eddy shrugged and grunted till Lee continued, "Gotta say, when they all go their ways, maybe we can do it. Think like this, with your big mouth and my great looks, we'll hook 'em easy!"

Eddy lost it and said, "Ha! Your great looks? You're gonna have me laughin' the whole day!"

Lee lifted her hair up and looked at him, "You'll come around one day, Eddy. Just know, I'll be here waitin' for ya." She gave him a smile before she left, leaving Eddy in a somewhat trance with his mouth slightly opened as she walked off. He shook it off shortly after before grabbing his things and heading to his class.

Recess came in a short amount of time afterwards with Double D and Marie deciding to spend it walking together. Jason was still on her mind. That voice message he sent for her little over a week ago still annoyed her but not enough to make it too noticable. Just then, Double D leaned over to her and asked, "You seem troubled. Everything alright, Marie?"

The walk's pace shifted to a slower one after that question. The cold breeze hitting their faces with a light force as Marie adjusted her sweater. The back of the school was a good place to have the mind relax in the midst of school, now it was the time for Marie to actually give Double D an insight into who Jason was.

Jason, a name now constantly reappearing in her mind ever since she heard that voice message. He always spoke with a deep voice that's drenched in confidence. Jason had more of a bulky body, and he was only a few inches taller than Double D. No facial hair to be seen on him, while the hair on his head was a dark brown Bryan Adams-esque hairstyle from the mid 80's. He sported a black tee-shirt covered by a grey jacket, that had black, vertical lines on the collar, a dark blue slim jeans and a black sneakers to end his regular attire.

Marie took a deep breath, stopped and looked at Double D as she finally explained who and what Jason was, "It's about Jason. The same guy who called a while back, and I told you that it was just him trying to mess with us. He left a voice message on our phone that night I came home from your house. He said that he couldn't wait to see me again.... I'm sick of that dumbass!"

Edd placed his hand on her shoulder and after that, she went on to tell him about them back in New Holden. They knew each other for around three months. They were friends. Marie had someone that she didn't mind hanging around with. Even though she enjoyed his company, she never had any real intentions of the possibility of being with Jason. Her heart was always for Double D; it was for Edd.

Jason always got what he desired. Jason knew his confidence could be convincing and that helped secured girls that he desired, even if it was just for a day, he knew that he could get her. Jason made some girls realise more vulnerable aspects of themselves but at the same time, he knew how to make them seem special to him in their eyes. He got whatever and whomever he had that "itch" for. The blue haired teen named Marie was the latest of this itch. He wanted her, but she refused him, twice. Not at all in a harsh manner but rather a simple and calm one with a brief explanation given. Jason took a minute to properly understand what she'd said. Someone had actually turned him down despite how close he thought he got to her.
