The layers of diaphanous material shrouding Sam's tall and broad figure fluttered like freshly washed sheets blowing in the breeze on a summer's day, as the man gracefully turned around. The wafting material almost concealed the weapon Sam held in his hand... the weapon morphed from a whip with talon like thorns into a long black spear, with a blade as pointed as a rapier sword. As if time had once again been remiss in its continuity of duty to the world, the scene before Kazuki's eyes slowed down to a pace where he saw everything happen in slow motion.
Sam plunged the long-bladed weapon into Lord Baddesley's abdomen, which protruded straight out of his back. The blade dripped with the man's blood, a piece of flesh and material clung to the end of the sharp point before Sam slowly withdrew the weapon in the same way it went in. Almost simultaneously, Kazuki felt another pain struck from the profundity of his being... it was as if Sam had plunged the weapon straight through his soul. It was the same sharp peculiar feeling which resonated deep within him the night of Lady Benevolent's death. Kazuki lurched forward as he sucked in a sharp breath. However, the pain searing across his back soon regained its reign of dominance when the sensation faded, releasing his breath in a convulsive manner. At the corner of his eye he noticed Iliana hunch forward and sway unsteadily in her stance. Her groans of discomfort were strained back behind her clenched teeth. Had she undergone the same situation?
"With your Tainted soul, you will go straight to Purgatory... Miracle of Victual." Sam shouted, raising the spear once again as if in preparation for another thrust at his victim, who had fallen onto his knees once again.
"No...!" The sound of Iliana's voice drew Kazuki's attention back on the girl.
A breath and a beat from his heart was stolen from him when she spontaneously leapt into a sprint away from him, and into the direction of the two men. Somewhere deep and lost inside Kazuki's core was that something which had laid dormant until these recent weeks. That something released a sense of fear pirouetting within him in an uncontrollable behaviour... a fear of what she was attempting to do... a fear for her safety... a fear of losing her.
Iliana slipped herself in between Lord Baddesley and the blade's line of trajectory.
The fear simmering from Kazuki's core, forged a rush of adrenaline that thrusted him forwards onto his hands and endured the pain plaguing his back.
"NO...!" He found himself yelling out in a hoarse voice.
The sensation of mild pins and needles prickled across the palm of his hands atop the cool surface of the floor. The tingling sensation intensified. Within a split second, the marble like floor severed from under his palms and carved a wide crack in between Iliana and Sam. The blade of the spear hung over the victim in a suspended position as both her and her perpetrator turned to the direction of where the tear along the ground originated from. Kazuki followed suit.
He slowly lifted his wide spanned hands to find the solid surface underneath his tactile touch utterly shattered, like broken glass. Surely that couldn't have been him... right? He stared at the palm of his hands like it was a foreign part of his body. Breathing heavily with the cold sweats rolling from his skin like raindrops, he raised his eyes up to meet the knowing grin sliding up Sam's face.

The man with the spear drew back away from Iliana with that sly smirk still clinging to his plump yet define lips. Whilst his enigmatic eyes remained on Kazuki, she turned around and kneeled by Lord Baddesley's side. If matters were not so dire for the man before her, she too would have retained her attention on Kazuki and what just happened.
