*Lei*

The months went by fast. The rest of the second semester of school came to a close and the seniors graduated. Even winter vacation went by at the blink of the eye as only one week remained. An, however, had yet to awaken but he was starting to show signs of stirring. Sarah was still recovering and decided to reside in Wahkan rather than Xian while outside of school, much to Kun's joy.

In that time, there weren't any other attacks on me. It seemed that the perpetrators wanted to keep a low profile for now. Though I hoped that they would never strike again. Not for my safety, but that of my family.

Still, it seemed like things were finally starting to look up, even if it was only a little.

"Lei!" a voice called out. It was Yuzuki. I put down my diary on my desk and looked out of the window.

"Hey!" I yelled, waving.

"Are you ready?" Hikaru asked. "We're ready to go!"

I nodded. "Yeah. I'll be there in a few!"

Me and my friends were going to Mina for vacation. We planned on going skiing as well as sight seeing. Mina, like Rios after it, gave rise to one of the three Xelerian Empires after all. It had to be filled with all sorts of neat stuff. Though I kind of wanted to go back to Rios. While traveling past the ruins, I felt as if I had barely seen much.

Haha, perhaps Eri's history nerdiness was starting to rub off on me.

I rushed out of my room with luggage on hand and ran down stairs. No one else was in the house. Dad was busy packing the stuff for our first real vacation. He was probably more excited about this than the rest of us.

My aunt's family was also tagging along.

"Hey!" a voice called out as soon as I walked out of the house. Waving at me was Iah donning a cool pair of shades.

"Hey! Thanks for the invite!"

He grinned. "It's nothing. You agreed to help me with my treasure hunt after all."

Iah had found a stone tablet while in the ruins. He'd asked me to deliver it to Eri to see if he could decipher the writing. With the help of my aunt and mom, he managed to uncode part of it. 'It said, this sword will make its wielder strong beyond belief...'

I didn't plan to use such as cheap shortcut, but it was still interesting. Plus, I was curious to find out what connection existed between Rios and Mina.

"Everyone is ready," Nyima said, walking over.

Iah smiled. "Great! Then let's get this show on the road! To my place!"

"To Iah's place!" I yelled, raising an arm into the air.

Nyima rolled her eyes. "You goofballs," she said before walking away.

Iah and I snickered, running after her. This was going to be the best vacation ever! Or so I thought...

(TBC in Emperor of the Celestial Sun Mist 3: Blade of Ruin)

**Solar Note: Hope that you enjoyed this story. Thanks for sticking with it this far :). I plan to release book 3 in late September (probably September 29th which is the triplet's birthday. Speaking of birthday's, today (July 15th) corresponds to Serein's birthday). Reason for the break is that I need time to come up with some new ideas for the series going forward.

While you wait, you could check out my other works, or the works in my reading lists (such as 'Earth Warriors' by LuisPetrizzoRengel, 'Masquerading the Key' by ShinomiyaDR, 'Strength and Power' by blue_jay, 'Among the Fallen' by thesongist, among several others.). Either way, I hope you look forward to the release of 'Blade of Ruin' in a few months :)!**
