Ruby's POV
~Dream~
I was walking... I don't know where but I kept walking. It felt so right. It was pitch black so I couldn't see anything. I just kept walking where I felt was right.
"Ruby... Ruby... Come to me Ruby..." I heard a voice whisper in the distance.
"Where are you?!" I shouted spinning around frantically trying to find the source of the mysterious voice.
"Come to me..." The voice kept saying.
Soon enough I saw a figure. It became bright but I couldn't see the figures face. It was a woman. She was wearing a white dress. She had long brown hair and a flat stomach with slim arms and legs. I felt the need to go towards her. So I did.
"I found you." She said. I could see her face now. She looked like... me! Her light blue eyes, cute button nose, I didn't have her full lips though.
"Ruby... Come closer child." She said.
"Who are you? Why do you look like me?" I asked calmly.
"I am your mother. You must listen to me Ruby. Time is running out. A great evil is coming. You must stop them. Trust Travis and his pack except for one person. You will know who that person is. She may or may not become a friend in the end. That is up to them. But you must prepare." The woman's voice was like music to my ears.
"Your my mother? I thought... how?" I stared at her and felt tears prick my eyes.
"No time to explain child. Take this gift and save the ones you love. Fight the enemy and I know you will win. I believe in you Ruby. My only daughter. I love you." I saw my mothers sad face as she put out both her hands where a ball of light appeared. She put up her hands so that they faced me and her arms were perfectly straight. The ball of light shot at me and instinctively i shirked my face awaiting the pain. Pain never came. I felt a wave of pleasure go throughout my entire body. I put my arms down and I saw my mother was crying.
"You must find him. Find him Ruby. He will help you. And remember trust Travis and his pack. I love you. My only daughter. Find him." At the last sentence my mothers voice became low and evil. It sent shivers down my spine. I watched as her face ripped and a dark, demon like monster appeared trying to get out of her body and over to me.
"RUBY WAKE UP! WAKE UP! BE SAFE!" The demon said but I knew it was my mother.
~End of dream~
I jolted awake my heart pounding. Sweat dripped down my face, neck and back. I hugged myself and my eyes flicked from one side of the room to the next. Making sure I was safe and remembering where I was and jumped out of bed and opened my door.
I ran across the hall and flung the door open I ran to the figure in the bed shaking them while I sobbed. The person growled and I stepped back. They looked at me and quickly jumped up and hugged me. I sobbed harder in their bare chest.
"What happen?" Travis growled angrily. I just sobbed in response.
~15 minutes later~
I finally calmed down and told Travis about my nightmare.
"It's okay. You okay now. It was just a dream." Travis said tubbing circles on my back.
"Can I use your bathroom?" I asked. My face felt weird because of all the dried tears.
"Of course!" Travis said kissing my cheek and letting go of the sides of my arms.
I walked into the bathroom and turned on the water in the sink. I splashed water on my face and dried it with a towel.
I walked back out and saw Travis in bed facing me.
"Can I sleep with you tonight?" I asked look down at my feet. "I don't wanna be alone." I said looking at him. All Travis did was slide over and pull up the covers a little so I could get in.
I climbed in and noticed he only had on boxers and I only had on shorts and a tank top.
Travis wrapped his arms around my waist and I let him. He pulled me close and I fell asleep.
I woke up the next morning to an empty bed. I frowned and got up.
I went to the bathroom and did my business. It took a second for me to figure out how to work the toilet but I got it and washed my hands. I sniffed the air and smelled bacon. Wait... What?
How can I smell bacon from the first floor when I'm on the fifth. I ignored this and walked down the stairs.
I was just outside the kitchen when I smelled the most amazing smell ever. It was a mixture of trees, blueberries and... something else I can't quite put my finger on.
I walked in and saw Travis on his phone and eating some bacon.
'Mate!' I heard a female voice in my head and I squealed. I saw Travis snap his head towards me and give me a worried look as he made his way over. I heard chuckling in my head.
'Calm down! Let me introduce myself. I'm Diamond. I'm kinda like your... inner voice. I help you makes decisions and if you have no one to talk to I'm always here. You stuck with me forever.' The voice said. She had a fun and upbeat kind of tone.
Travis' POV
I heard a squeal and look up from my phone I saw Ruby standing there frozen. I put my phone down and rushed over to her. I kept asking if she was okay but her eyes were glazed over.
'How is that possible?' My wolf Trevor asked me in my head. He's my wolf.
'I don't know.' I said and blocked him off continuing to ask if Ruby was okay.
Soon enough her eyes returned to normal and she looked up at me smiling.
"I have to show you something." She said and dragged me outside.
She let go of my wrist and I stayed still watching her walk a little bit away from me. Ruby's eyes glazed over for a second and than she closed them.
What I saw next made my jaw drop...
