That day I didn't have dinner. I was feeling a lot of things. I went around the yard and remembered my times with them. I picked up a ball and remembered playing basketball with Ray sometimes.
I saw the swing set and remembered that time a swing set collapsed on top of me. I broke 3 ribs and punctured a lung. I almost died. Mighty was the one that got me to the ER.
Then there was the time Mighty took a bullet for me. He lost a lot of blood.
We were all so close. Oh, Mighty, Ray. Why did you have to leave.
At 11, I finally came back inside. Silver put the kids to bed and was waiting for me in ours.
As I climbed in bed, I didn't say anything. I just lay down with my back turned to Silver.
He latched onto me and softly kissed my neck,
his arms wrapped around my torso.I grabbed his hands and closed my eyes. I brought his hand up to my face. I kissed his hand then put it on my cheek.
I could feel warm tears running down my face. My chest was tightening and I let out a small whimper. He hugged me tighter to reassure me he was there and that everything would be okay.
He whispered soft, sweet things into my ear. Hearing him say what I wanted to hear made me feel better. I whispered a soft "I love you." I could feel him smiling. I turned my body around so I was facing him and his lips met mine.
I eventually gave in to my sleepiness and dozed off. I assume Silver did the same.
