Disrupting yourself from a trance, you felt determined and continued with David's checkup. "Please lay down so I can conduct a full body scan" you asked. You just wanted to get this over with. Steadily as the scan ensued, you depict something strangely out of place about his internal structure. Closing onto areas with similar occurrences, the check-ups weren't showing signs of a flopping mechanism caused by the crash damages. In fact, the circuits were being surrounded by a foreign substance that was molding them into strange forms, as if to mimic the human organ systems. Biologically impossible, you were clearly stricken by this madness. What type of messed up evolution was in progress? Nothing showed links of proof to make absolute sense of this. That is, until you pondered about David's own travels. Could David have done something unbeknownst to the crew during the spacecraft's inspection? Tracking back to before the entire disaster had hit everyone. Hidden chambers in the Engineer's spacecraft were left unexploited for later investigation, but as trivial things were postponed due to the horrifying events that occurred at the time. If David's body was expressing a sense of metamorphosis where his body was consciously developing and experiencing these abrupt changes, you knew he must have done something outrageous. You needed to make a physical body inspection to clarify your assumptions on what was causing David's body to change. You had to get yourself together and lectured yourself. Inhaling and exhaling as your heart became unsteady in the worst way, you stayed on guard. "David, can you please sit up, seems like there is some malfunctioning and I need to do an inspection." "That is not a problem" David replied. You put on gloves, beginning to feel his top middle back and shoulder muscles for any indication of areas missing under structures or being misplaced. His back elbow, forearm and back neck, had a more softened flesh bounce. Seeing that his skeletal framework doesn't encompass a rugged and sturdy structure, like the usual metallic elements used for his assemblage. His body felt more like copper wire thick, thin enough to bend willingly. "Ms. (Y/n), how far would you go to get your answers?" ask David rather monotonously. You look back making eye contact, finding he was already staring back. Thinking more seriously and cautiously of your words, you wondered whether he already knew. It was out of line that he wouldn't. Maybe he was intentionally doing this, but for what reason. His intentions were seemingly blurred. "Depends on how much there is to know" you say looking back at your work. It wasn't going to be easy which you knew. You wrote down notes as David stared at you unfazed. Seeing no malfunctioning since the beginning, it was already becoming worrisome staying in the same room as him. Carefully you walk somewhere else while directing your question. "Can you please remove your lower coverings and cover up using the blanket underneath the examination table? I'd have to test your reflexes whether they are still in check." Your heart felt like it was beating out of embarrassment but also fear. Willingly, he sets a blanket over his lower section when you could turn back. A deep inhale allows you to continue examining his body confidently. The leg areas seemed to have undergone no metamorphosis of the limbs or joints. His thighs were suspected of no problems either. Wanting this to end, constantly touching David's exposed muscles and flesh; you try to finish off by inspecting his torso, breathing more shakily than before. "The trick is, not minding it Ms. (Y/n). Even after all this, wouldn't you still agree?" he asked. You felt a bit confused but understood he had been observing your hands that had begun to slightly tremble which shocked you. You didn't know whether you didn't want to touch him, or whether it was from fear? Maybe it was even a mix of the two, but you didn't stay on that thought. Your hands resumed to roam over his sides, which forced you to close in and allow him to stare at you more intently. His breath trickled at your skin despite the distance. You couldn't notice that, as David loomed over your hands roaming his body, you were clearly vulnerable under him. Heading further to his hip, you sensed something strange. It felt rigid and sturdy. Looking down you saw a metallic rod had pierced through his flesh, and you retract it before applying a wad of tissue, but in removing the fabric you find yourself shock. On the tissue, you find...a salmon colored stain. Was this really, blood? How was this even possible? How IS this even possible? This was all too confusing and impossible. Why was David's body evolving?
