Awakening Arc: Chapter 2

Second part of the first chapter.

[Night, Summer festival]

Both Akira and Touji were talking, as Akira told his friend about his encounter with Natsume.

"Loser!" Touji sighed which Akira got pissed at that.

"Why?" Akira being only a little pissed.

"Arguing with a woman and also hitting her is an automatic out. You'll miss time you could be flirting." Touji answered. Akira got up and face up at Touji.

"Like i want to flirt with her of all people." Akira grimaced at the thought of dating the same girl who was acting so arrogant.

"Come on, don say it like that. But even so, what an old family... To a ritual like that." Touji began to say. Akira got quiet knowing what he was talking about.

"Yeah... The members of the branch family are supposed to become the head family's member's Shikigami..." Akira said while looking at the night sky.

Shikigami in Onmyodo they're familiar spirits controlled by a practicioner's mystical power. In these days, they're officially employed by the Onmyou League. Using general Onmyo techniques. The "Core" of the mystical power can be put into a doll made out of paper.

"What a cruel story. So they treat people's bodies as if they were paper dolls?" Akira says, being in disbelief at such thing. "It is great how they neglect human rights, isn't it?" He added sarcastically.

"Isn't it like some sort of a manager and an athlete on a sports team figuratively speaking? Well, except the absolute obedience makes it a bit different, i guess..." Touji said at which Akira scowled at the dumbest comparision ever.

"Are you... Mocking me?" Akira said in a threatening manner, at which Touji raised his hands on surrender not wanting to incite his anger any longer.

"If i have to choose to serve that idiot, i prefer to die. I guess, not having the spiritual sight kinda saved me from being that twisted girl's Shikigami." Akira bluntly said, stating his decision on not becoming that girl's Shikigami.

"She seems like a sweet girl." Touji suddenly said, which made Akira confused at what he was talking about.

"From what you said, it sounds like her point was "I'm lonely"." Touji explained.

Which made Akira being suprised and he remembered the last thing she told him. "I'll protect it by myself.".

"...Then i really did went too far..." Akira muttered now feeling guilty at what he had done to Natsume.

"Don't let it get you down, Akira, it's just a broken heart." Touji said while patting his hand on his shoulders, like he was trying to console him for something.

"Nothing has been broken you-!!" Akira was going to shout until.

"A BROKEN HEART? WHO!?" A angry shout came into his ears. And Akira suddenly reconized who was.

"Listen Hokuto now-" Akira was going to say. But he gasped at seeing her.

Because she was wearing a sky-blue yukata with flowers patters and a pink color sash. In Akira's opinion, it looked very nice on Hokuto that he cannot find words for it.

Touji coughed to bring out Akira of his daze. "Umm... What's up with those clothes?" Akira asked nervously.

"T-They're for the festival. Something's wrong with them?" She responded while she was feeling a little angry at Akira's response.

"Nothing's wrong with them... It's just not like you at all." Akira answered bluntly. Which was making Hokuto really pissed.

"When i saw you. I couldn't believe my eyes. It really gave me a shock." Akira continued to speak bluntly which was making Hokuto more and more pissed at his words.
