Klaus' POV
For about ten centuries now, I have been walking this earth alone without my mate. Two days ago, I got a letter from a witch telling me to meet her in the alley by the bar, where she works, to talk about my mate. Usually, I don't do business with witches after the last time with that Bennett witch in Mystic Falls, but this involves the information about my mate so I am willing to talk to this witch. I looked around the alley to see if there were any vampires around to interrupt our talk. There were no vampires around, but I did see a small table with candles, ferns, a glass of water, a knife, two glass bowls, and a wooden crushing stick on it.
As I observed the table, I heard the back door open, making me look up at the person. I saw Sophie walk down the stairs as the back door slammed shut. I moved away from the table as Sophie walked up to me, "Hello, Klaus." I nodded, "Hello, Sophie. You wrote in the letter that you know about my mate and both of my siblings' mates?" She nodded, "Yes, I do. Just so you know, I have not told anyone in my coven nor do I have any intention to harm your mate or their mates." I smirked, "Good." Sophie walked over to the table and set it up for something.
"You know, I'm not allowed to do this because of Marcel's rule about witches not doing magic, but I already talked to him about finding your mate and he's okay with it." I sighed and nodded. She turned toward me, "Now let's talk about your mate." I immediately gave Sophie all of my attention, "Tell me everything please Sophie. I need to know if she's alright and where she is." I felt my heart pound in my chest as I start worrying about my mate. Sophie gestured to me to calm down, "Calm down Klaus. Your mate is alright. She's safe."I nodded and calmed down, waiting for her to continue. Sophie sighed, "Well, she's safe for now anyway." I immediately got worried again, "What do you mean, "for now"?!" She just turned around to the table, grabbed the knife and one of the glass bowls, then cut my hand with the knife. I hissed in pain as my blood dripped into the glass bowl. Once my wound healed up, Sophie walked back to the table with me right behind her.
She then put some ferns in the other glass bowl and crushed them into mush with the wooden stick. She grabbed the glass of water and poured it into the glass bowl with the crushed ferns, then mixed them with the wooden stick. I looked around the alley as Sophie poured my blood into the other glass bowl. She mixed the three concoctions with the same wooden stick and closed her eyes. After a while, the wind picked up and the flames on the candles grew larger.
Sophie turned around toward me and held out her hand, "I need two objects that belong to you so I can put a tracking spell on them and give them to your mate by using a different spell." I nodded and pulled out my necklace and my daylight ring from my jacket pocket. I put them in Sophie's hand but pulled her dangerously close to me, "If this doesn't work, you better leave town if I were you." Sophie nodded, "This will work Klaus." I let go of her hand and she walked back to the table. "It better," I muttered under my breath.
Sophie gently laid the items in the glass bowl, closed her eyes, and started chanting under her breath. The wind started blowing even wilder and the flames grew bigger. I felt something shift in the air and the wind stopped and the flames went to normal. I slowly walked toward the table and looked into the glass bowl. My necklace and daylight ring were gone. "Wait about six hours and you will feel a sudden tug in your heart. That will mean that your mate is here in our universe. Let's hope nothing to her before she gets here."
I nodded and Sophie handed me a small piece of paper, "Here. This is the number of a ramp installer here in New Orleans." I put the paper in the pocket of my jacket, "Thank you, Sophie. Remember what I said if this doesn't work." She nodded, "I know, Klaus, and trust me, this will work." I nodded and walked out of the alley into the busy road. I looked up at the night sky as I thought, 'Find me, my love.' Then I walked to the Mikaelson Mansion in deep thought.
