Windswept Leaves

Listen to the rustling autumn leaves

How they whisper and shiver in the cool bitter breeze

The rumors of winter are dismissed with no thought

For the vibrant warm colours are suggesting its not

The way that they float to the ground with no sound,

But to be caught in the wind for they way not a pound

The crinkling and crackling and walked-over sound,

Of leaves that are littering all over the ground

And when the barren branches of trees start to show,

They’ll be gathered into piles, or be left in the snow.
