as I walk into the ocean,
waves crash at my feet.
I walk deeper and deeper
until the water is above my head.
the waves pull me in and take
me under. I search for the
bottom of the ocean; searching
for you. I am desperate to see
you and hold you. my heart starts
to race and I realize I need air.
I try swimming to the top; the
waves keep pulling me under and
tangling me in an invisible
web. I am desperate for air. but it's
too late now and the water has
filled my lungs. and my final
thought is that you are like the air.
I searched for you for too long
somewhere I knew you weren't and
when I finally realized where you
were, it was too late.
