The perfect present

                  Gabby's POV
'Shh speak quietly kids, we wouldn't want soma knowing what we up to now, would we?
'No Mrs gabby, we would be silent starting now'
I smiled at their response they were all so excited while planning a surprise party for Soma, seeing how happy they were, I was threatened to shed a tear but I fought it back.

All the kids at the orphanage had a very large space carved in my heart, they all had their unique qualities but Soma was like a son to me I fell in love with Soma the very day I set my eyes on him so I always tried to make him feel loved with the help of the kids.

Soma lifts my spirit with his big heart, even when he had nothing, with hopes and dreams he felt as though he had the whole world. He was the happiest kid I had ever seen, and the bravest too. I always told my kids to learn a few tips from Soma maybe he'd teach them to stop whining even when they're not meant to. I had three kids a boy and two girls they were great kids too but Soma was simply the best.

After all the preparation had been done Johnny switched off all the lights and Curtis ran off to give Philip the signal. I instructed Philip to keep Soma company I knew Philip was good with words so I told him to make up something then when he sees our signal he should bring him in without creating any suspicion in Soma's mind. It was a full proof plan and I knew all would work out fine.

                  Somadina's  POV
Philip had been with me all day, telling me tales that were unreal but I loved them still. He was the only one I wasn't upset with even though he didn't wish me, at least he tried to make me smile and that was all that mattered,  unlike the others. I wasn't really  upset with any other but Mrs Gabby, i felt Mrs Tiffany's words had finally gotten into her and she had finally decided to let go of me in her purest of hearts.

Suddenly I sighted Curtis popping his head in the window, staring directly at Philip, he ignored me completely which was so unlike him he focused all his attention on Philip. I felt so down, I wasn't expecting them to hand me presents but I was at least expecting wishes from my close friends and not a cold shoulder.
'I feel like heading to my bunk, I feel faint would you mind walking me Soma'?
Philip asked so politely whilst placing his hands on his head. I felt so worried maybe he needed food I thought, I hurriedly grabbed him straight to his bunk.

On getting to our room, the lights were out which was unusual, before I could reach the switch Philip had already blacked out, I was frightened I  didn't know what to do so I started giving him the mouth to mouth that Mr D thought us. I prayed hard that it would help revive him I asked the heavenly beings to at least grant me this as my birthday gift.

'Happy birthday'
I lifted my head up to a now bright room filled with my friends and my best friend Mrs Gabby, they were holding candle lights and presents all in honor of me.  I looked down to see if Philip was fine just to see Philip next to Johnny he was making fun of us.
'Soma is your first kiss, Soma is your first kiss' 
'No he's not, I kissed Joyce last week'
Philip defended himself but Johnny wouldn't let it go
'Liar, liar Soma is your first kiss'.

I shook my head, that was when I knew the reason Philip had been with me all day feeding me with false tales, he did all that to help Mrs Gabby prepare a surprise party for me I was so happy I could kiss all my friends at a goal.

That was my happiest moment at the orphanage, my fifteenth birthday. I did cut my cake, took some pictures with the nice sisters, exchanged presents and I spent the remaining evening with Mrs Gabby.

'Here'
Mrs Gabby handed me a square shaped box wrapped with a purple ribbon.
'You didn't have to give me a present, you have already done lots for me'.
And i was been accurate Mrs Gabby had done a lot for me I felt it would be perfectly unfair to accept a present from her.
'Hey you've got to have this son, trust me on this one'.
With that I grabbed the present and unwrapped it anxiously. It was a silver locket, when I opened it I saw a picture of myself when I was still an infant, I felt the little cute picture had more to it but all she let me know was;
'When it's the right time you'd know everything dear',
With that she pecked my forehead and swept off gracefully.
