leaving me shattered

It's been a month since I celebrated my birthday. I got so many wonderful presents but I couldn't take off Mrs Gabby's. I had asked her severally if she knew anything about my childhood but her response was always;
'Fate would tell if you'd ever get to be made aware of your past son'.
I had stopped asking and allowed fate to play its role dutifully.

I and the three musketeers decided to go round the building searching for spare parts so we could event toy cars just then, we overheard the sisters arguing over only God knows what.
'We must tell the kids'
We heard Sister Martha yell.
'Then you tell them'
Witch Tiffany replied
'Tell them what exactly? What are we telling the kids'
Mr D asked.
'Shut up old man if you can't handle it then get out stop interrupting us with your fried brain'
Witch Tiffany yelled at Mr D. We had started spying on them because we really wanted to know the big secret so it wouldn't come to us as a surprise.
'The kids would be shattered if we tell them, y'all are aware that they loved her right'
Sister Josephine tried to reason with both Sister Martha and witch Tiffany but Tiffany didn't like her idea very much.
'Then let them be shattered, look y'all should be made aware that I don't give a shit about those foolish kids they mean absolutely nothing to me and as for her, its good that she's gone.  I can now do what I want without Mrs goody two shoes trying to preach to me all the time'
Sister Martha slapped her across her face she wasn't pleased at all with what she said.
'God forgive you Tiffany, when would you stop thinking about your worthless self for once huh,  and start thinking of others for a change maybe if you could spend your few days on earth caring for these poor children with all your heart, God might actually have pity on you and let you enter heavens gate, you foolish woman' .
Sister Martha was shaking whilst tears rolled down her cheeks she looked as though she wanted to pop, her round pale face had gone red as a beetroot.
'Who gave you the right to slap me Martha and you're not my freaking God so I forbid you to judge me in such a manner'
Tiffany questioned Martha whilst pointing her index finger at her.
' I'd give you another tight slap if you dare me Tiffany and what is this you're saying about me judging you huh? What is this? answer me tiffany answer me!'
Sister Martha shook witch Tiffany by the shoulder which made her unable to speak. Tiffany had a very slender figure unlike sister Martha, so she was able to hold her down.
'Oh the cat caught your tongue right, Mrs run mouth can't speak again right? Now i'd tell you why we don't need to judge you Tiffany, even God in all his glory cannot judge you you know why? Because he wouldn't even be able to stand you in his presence because your attitude stinks as  rotten eggs. Look around you Tiffany, even the kids hate you so much, if we could hand them each a dagger they wouldn't even be generous enough to leave your bones for the vultures to feast on'.
"That's right"
We all muttered.

'That's enough sister Martha!, the both of you should stop fighting already!. Oh holy Mary mother of God, plead for mercy on our behalves for we are not perfect'
Sister Josephine put an end to the argument and prayed for mercy while using her rosary to draw the sign of the cross.

'Now that we've all cooled off let us now think like matured adult not children Mr D please tell us how we're going to break this heart throbbing news to the kids'?
Sister Josephine asked Mr D looking so concerned. He was unable to reply instead he started shedding tears and that left me worried I knew something was definitely not right.

'I've got an idea!'
Sister Martha screamed after about ten minutes of silence but we were unable to here what her ideology was about because she whispered it, it was as though she knew we were eavesdropping on their conversations.

'Philip, who do you think they were talking about?'
Johnny asked
'Well am not sure but I really hope its not Mrs Gabby because in all of their conversation, i did catch that the person is very important to us all'
'Yes you have a point Philip I mean I heard that part of their conversation too I hope Mrs Gabby is fine'
I responded, feeling really worried for Mrs Gabby then I whispered a prayer
'Dear God forgive our sins and protect Mrs gabby for she is all we have, holy Mary please do intercede on our behalf'.
I drew the sign of the cross with my rosary to seal my request.
'Come on, cheer up guys am sure she just went to see her kids as usual, she is perfectly fine and am sure she'd be back in no time at all'
Curtis tried to assure us while smiling a forced smile, I could also see pain and insecurity in his eyes but what could I do.

The three musketeers and I were so anxious we wanted to know what the bad news was, we were pacing around our bunks non stop like mad men.
It was dinner period already, we paced to the dining, for the first time in my entire life we were all treated like kings at the orphanage, we were served dishes that we had only eaten in our dreams and at the same time witch Tiffany offered to give us all a massage, very strange.
Well, after eating a well cooked diner and receiving a soothing massage from Witch Tiffany the sisters called for THE MEETING.

'Kids this would come as a shock to you all but Mrs Gabriel Jacobs kicked the bucket last night. Well the thing is, she had been suffering from leukemia for quite some time now and because she didn't want y'all to get worried over her she hid this bitter truth from everyone'
Sister Josephine explained but we all bursted into fit of laughter.
'So what's so bad about her kicking a bucket maybe she was upset sister Josephine and that's why she kicked it'
Philip said while laughing.
'No Philip, maybe she broke the bucket while kicking it.  Don't worry too much we'd all work extra hard so we can pay for the bucket she broke if it was yours.
Curtis added with that we started laughing uncontrollably again.

'Shut up foolish children your precious Mrs Gabby is DEAD she has gone to heaven now'
Witch Tiffany tried to explain but we were still laughing not taking her seriously then after cooling off we all paused and screamed what! In unison.
'Yes she has gone to heaven kids she is no more she is dead'
Witch Tiffany added.
I couldn't believe the words that were coming out from witch Tiffany's lips but then none of the sisters tried to stop her, instead they were all crying. Then I knew I was finished.
'Ahhhhhhhh'
I screamed at the top of my voice I felt as though my lungs were about to pop out but I didn't care I just kept on screaming, screaming at God, at the universe, at the sisters at my misfortune and at Mrs Gabby,
With that everything went black.
