Forth parked his motorcycle in the carport nearest to the canteen. He was meeting up with his friends for lunch and didn't like parking his bike on the street. When he walked in, all his friends were already sitting at a table. There were six of them in total. Oat, Gear, Duke, Chris (who was half Thai, half American), Mai Ding (whose father was Chinese), and Lek.
"Well, well, well. If it's isn't the man of the hour. Fashionably late, I see." Oat called out when he spotted him walking over. All the others turned to see Forth heading their way.
"It's about time you got here, Ai'Forth." Lek said to him.
"Why, what's the hurry?" Forth asked as he took a seat at the end of the table next to Chris. Chris never said much whenever they were all together as a group but for some reason Forth liked him anyway. Mostly because he knew how to reign in Oat when he was being extra annoying. He was big too, with broad shoulders and large muscles. His quietness was the complete opposite of how he looked but despite that, he was nice to have around when loud mouthed Oat was becoming too much to handle.
"Brace yourself." Chris said in a quiet voice and immediately Forth knew what was coming next.
"We found someone for you." Oat grinned.
"Here we go...." Forth rolled his eyes.
"Wait, wait, wait, just listen." Oat leaned forward across the table. "This girl is HOT. I really outdid myself this time."
"Then why don't you have her then?" Forth sighed.
"Because she's not my type. She sexy. But she's not my type."
"Ai'Oat, you don't even have a type. You chase after anything that breathes in your direction!" Gear said loudly, and the rest of the guys fell out laughing.
"So, I'm not picky! That doesn't mean I don't have a type!" Oat said defensively.
"Be honest with yourself, Oat. You have no type. Girls don't even like you." Duke chimed in.
Forth had to smirk at that. It was true, though. Girls practically ran away from Oat. He was tall for a Thai but he was awkward and extremely skinny with no muscles whatsoever. He was brown-skinned when most girls at the school ran after the paler guys that looked liked models. He wore large, round, black-rimmed glasses, and he often presented himself as way too eager when it came to females. None of the guys at the table ever said it to his face, but they all secretly believed he was still a virgin even though he claimed he wasn't. Even the Fairy Angel Gang stayed away from him so how could he have been intimate with anyone else?
"So are we going to turn this all on me or are we going to focus back on Forth?" Oat was growing irritated.
Lek turned to Forth. "It's true though, Ai'Forth. This girl looks really good. Oat spotted her and we all agree that she's a good match for you."
"I didn't agree..." Chris said under his breath. Forth was the only one that heard him.
"A good match, huh? What's her name?" Forth folded his hands across the table in front of him.
"Pixie? No...Apple?....Glam!" Oat tried to recall.
"Where is she from?"
"Uhh..."
"What university does she study at?"
"Er..."
"How old is she?" Forth threw the questions at him one right after the other because he knew that Oat didn't know the answer to any of them. There was a pause as Oat tried to think of a good response. As he opened his mouth to speak, Forth cut him off.
