Forth sat in the waiting room waiting to hear from the nurse again that was taking care of Beam. Earlier, he tried to convince Kit and Phana that he would take care of Beam and that they didn't have to worry but they weren't having it. They chose to stay and wait until the nurse came to tell them that he would be fine. His nose wasn't broken but he did have a mild concussion from hitting his head on the pavement.

After getting all cleaned up, he had fallen asleep and the nurse recommended that he stay the night at the infirmary and go home the next day. Any classes he missed would be excused as the doctor would send an email to all his teachers. With that, Kit and Phana were satisfied enough to leave but not before leaving messages on his phone so that he would see them whenever he woke up.

Forth was the only one that didn't leave. Beam wouldn't even know that he was there but for some reason he just couldn't bring himself to leave. He looked around at the empty waiting room then checked the time on his phone. 9:30 pm. Was Beam awake yet? It had already been a few hours.

The nurse came out of Beam's room right as Forth was shoving his phone back in his pocket. Forth stood to his feet in anticipation.

"Nong, ka. You're friend is doing well but he is still sleeping. He will probably sleep a lot for these next few days because he has a concussion. You have been here for a long time. Why not go get something to eat and come back in the morning na. We will let him know his friends were here."

"If you don't mind, I would like to stay khrap."

The nurse smiled sweetly at him. "Okay. We can't offer you a bed but you are free to stay in the room with your friend. There is a small couch inside."

Forth nodded and the nurse walked away. He took a deep breath as he walked over to Beam's door and paused. What if his face was all jacked up? What if it was all bruised because of him? What if Beam woke up and hated him? Forth shook his head to clear all his thoughts and pushed the door open. Beam was laying on the bed very still. The nurse had changed his shirt and gave him a clean one, and surprisingly the bruising was very little. Just a small one on the center of his nose bridge.

Forth walked over to the bed and looked down at Beam. He was very still but he could see his chest rising and falling and hear his light breathing. There was a chair nearby so Forth pulled it over so he could sit. He still stared at Beam as he slept peacefully. He never really noticed how long Beam's eyelashes were until now, or just how pale his skin was. Forth held out his arm and put it close to Beam's. He had to be at least three shades darker than him. Forth never minded the fact that he was dark. His whole family was brown so he didn't find it abnormal. Although people generally favored lighter skin, he had never had any trouble receiving attention from girls or guys. He looked at his hands and then at Beam's. Where Forth's hand were large and rough, Beam's hands were slender and delicate looking. A doctor verses an engineer.

Forth removed his arm and stared back at Beam's face. He also had such clear skin and small pink lips. With the exception of the bruise on the bridge of his nose, his face was completely blemish free. Forth rested his chin in his hand and he leaned his elbow on the bed to watch him. If he had to admit it, Beam was actually quite pretty.

He was just about to reach up and remove Beam's bangs off his forehead when the nurse walked back in the room.

"Be gentle na." Forth jumped at her voice and turned around. She had a bowl of noodles on a tray that she set down in front of Forth.

"Eat and be full." She said kindly. "You have been here for hours with no food."

"Thank you khrap."

The bowl was filled to the brim with noodles in warm broth, sliced pork, and three medium sized fish balls. He was so hungry he couldn't even stop his mouth from watering.
