Hi everyone! It's Oliver here, the real one.

I'm halfway through Chapter Eight right now but I just wanted to say thank you. As their story comes to a close, mine is just beginning.

Back in November 2016, Me and Kate were just hanging out in my bedroom talking about how cool it would be to write a story, especially one set in an Apocalypse, so that night, I wrote about me, her and a few other friends I had at that time and I thought it was amazing. The feeling you get when you're writing is a describable feeling, yes this is just another Wattpad story but man, it's my Wattpad story.

Over these past four years, I've loved writing this book series and I loved how I did it for me and Kate. These characters, while most of them are real, some aren't, like Kara. Writing her for the first time was so weird, it was the first character I had ever made from scratch and I thought she was a badass. So I made more and just fell in love with the idea of it.

Over these last three, four-ish years, there have been many ideas, many drafts, many covers and even an idea for a crossover. For example, the original book one had me lose an eye and the original book four was set seven years in the future, where Oliver had to travel across the country with a small child who was immune, whilst dying. I have an alternate ending, if you want to see it, just let me know.

What I guess I really want to say is, thank you.

Thank you to you guys, who read my book, whether that's 1.2k or 12 of you, thank you.

Thank you to everyone outside of the internet for reading, helping me with the book.

And thank you to my best friend, Kate. Thank you for reading my silly little books and enjoying them, thank you for giving me inspiration and just thank you for it all.

Part of the journey is the end.

-Oliver.
