Bonus

Hi everyone! I thought as this is the end of Our Expiration Date, I would make a Bonus section where I talk about all the random and weird plans I had for Book 1, 2, 3 and four. Feel free to take a look!

Book One.

Originally in book one, Oliver and Abigail, were in a relationship, much like my real-life relationship at the time but I decided to scrap that when I rewrote it. Esme also lost her leg in the second chapter(?), Oliver cut it off, that was wild. 

Nathan wasn't in it originally, he was added after the rewrite purely because I felt that Mitchell and Yasmin weren't enough on their own. 

I did also think about a potential romantic relationship with Kate and Favour but that was scrapped. In the chapter we meet Favour, he originally had a girlfriend who died. There was also a Dan and Phil reference before the rewrite because for some reason we ended up in London. 

Many of you probably remember Oliver losing an eye originally, the reason I scrapped this was because of me and Kate, we wanted to do a photoshoot of our characters and the eye patch I had created was far too itchy. I also have no idea what happened to Oliver's shield. 

I didn't know who to make get bitten at the end but I thought Georgina was the right choice because of her relationship with Kate. 

I love the little kind of foreshadowing I added from Mitchell, I knew from book two I wanted him to return so I thought of the twin idea and I think I pulled it off very well personally. 

I showed my old English teacher the original book one, I've never been more embarrassed 

Book Two. 

I remember writing the first chapter and I just fell in love with Kara as I wrote her, she was made out to be this blue-haired badass who everyone was made to have a crush on. I still think she's the coolest character in all the books. She was also my first made-up character!

Kara's main kind of relationship with Oliver was always romantic, she called him "British Boy" in the original book two a lot. 

I wanted a relationship between Math and Favour, I know I originally hinted at it but I'm not sure if it made it through the rewrite. 

Oliver trusts Kara really easily in the first chapter purely because he's based on me and I'm pretty sure if I was in that situation, I would trust her like how he does. 

I kinda wanted Kate to be a lot angrier in book two because originally we were going to find Georgina dead, she had been shot when she was alive, this was going to obviously have a big impact on the group but especially Kate. 

I'm pretty sure Favour died because of Georgina in the original but in chapter two he died from a Walker, I did this because I felt that in an apocalypse anyone could die at any time and Favour was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I wanted to explore the friendship of Favour and Kate a bit more but I never got around to it. 

I think in general book two was extremely rushed and I was running out of ideas fast, even whilst rewriting, I didn't know what to put in half the time so that's why it's very messy. 

I remember the original introduction of Warren, he was originally going to be with Mitchell but I scrapped that. 

"Old Friend" That Georgina mentioned was also going to be Mitchell!. The storyline of Georgina needing my blood was something I added during the rewrite, I put it in because originally it made no sense why she wanted to kill me, she just did.
