The Past

(Flashback Akemi's pov)
(10 years earlier)

I was sitting on top of the hill. Waiting for Asta and Yuno to come. After a couple of minutes, they finally came.

     I handed them the bread. "Thank you Akemi-Chan!" Asta and Yuno thanked me. "No problem," I said.

     They started eating the bread. "This bread is yummy. Yummy, but a bit hard, maybe." Yuno said tears on the corner of his eyes. I wiped the tears off Yuno's face.

     "Amazing, Akemi-Chan! You're the best cook and most awesome baker ever!" Asta said having the bread in his mouth. Then he takes it out of his mouth.

     "Hey, when I grow up, we should get married, and you can cook for me." He says. "Father's the one who baked that. So maybe you and he could go see this Marry girl!" I said happily.

     "Akemi marry isn't a person." Sister Lily said to me. I was still confused about what she meant.

     "Nuh-uh! He's gross! I wanna marry you, Akemi-Chan, not some old man! Akemi! Marry, marry, marry me! Marry, marry, marry me!" He started winning.

      Then Sister Lily took out her grimoire. Which made Asta sit up quickly. "That's a good boy, Asta." Sister Lily says. Putting her grimoire away.

     "I'm telling you, it'll never work. She doesn't know what married means. She's, um... Akemi has an innocent mind." Yuno says to Asta. "I'm not giving up! I'll keep asking her till I'm old and gray. She'll say yes eventually!" Asta yelled looking at Yuno. "Well, good luck," Yuno said nervously. I giggle at them.

(Time skip! Still in flashback)

"And so, a deep, cold, and seemingly endless darkness covered the world. It was on the brink of being destroyed by a ruthless demon." Sister Lily said. "That demon's a jerk!" Asta yells with his fists up. While Yuno covered his ears and me rubbing Yuno's back.

Sister Lily turns the page. "But then, one brave mage stepped forward." She said. "Woah!" Asta said amazed. "Hoping to dispel the darkness and bring dawn to the world, he battled the demon." Sister Lily said.

Then Yuno lifted his head and looks at Sister Lily.

"Finally, he defeated the foul creature, and when he was finished, the world was a brighter place than it had ever been before. The long night ended at last because the mage had brought dawn to the world." Sister Lily said.

"Hooray!" Asta cheered putting his fist in the air. Then Yuno got up his eyes sparkling looking at the book. I was amazed that the mage defeated the demon.

"The triumphant mage was hailed as the Wizard King, and his story became a legend." Sister lily said.

"Wow! The Wizard King?" The three of us said. "Peace and prosperity reigned." Sister Lily finished and closed the book. I looked at Asta and Yuno to see that they both had smiles on their faces. It made me smile that they had a dream.

I was admiring the skies and clouds. We were outside looking at the giant demon skull.

"Hey Sister. There's still one now, right? A Wizard King, I mean." Asta asked Sister Lily. "Yes." Sister Lily answered.

"That role is one of the most vital in the kingdom. The duty has been passed down throughout the ages, from one Wizard King to the next. With the power of his magic to protect us, we live in relative safety. It's because of the Wizard King that the Clover Kingdom is so peaceful." She exclaimed.
