The smell of burnt rubber and the sound of tires screeching could be heard down the block as well as the sound of the large crowd cheering. Miami wasn't just a hot spot for the biggest clubs, but for street racing.
As many people gathered around for the upcoming race that mattered the most, Brenda Perez stood along with the other racers waiting to start.
"What's going on girl?" Her best friend Suki greeted her with a hug and kiss on the cheek as they sat back on their own cars.
"Just waiting to kick some ass tonight." She replies as she looked around at the other racers she was going up against. Slap Jack, Julius, Suki, but one person was missing.
"What the hell is taking so long?" Suki mumbles, Brenda shrugged her shoulders in response and tapped her foot.
Just when she was about to say something, Tej comes up to them.
"Yo Tej!" Slap jack calls out. "When we getting this race started?"
"Where's your fifth man?" Tej asked in response as everyone started to quiet down.
"It was Joaquin, but he had a graveyard shift tonight." Slap jack told him.
"Bull shit." Brenda mumbled as Suki tried her best to hold in her laugh.
"Why don't you just roll with us tonight then Tej? Take the last spot."
"Hell nah, I ain't rolling with y'all. How 'bout this, either find a fifth or don't race. How 'bout that?" Brenda bit the inside of her cheek as she tried her best to hide her annoyance. All she wants to do is just race and win some cash.
"We should find two so we don't roll with these skirts here." Julius pointed at Suki and Brenda, instantly offending them.
"Why don't you shut your damn mouth and save it for the streets dick head." If there was one thing that annoyed Brenda the most, it was when people thought she couldn't do things that guys could do. She was tired of all the sexist comments being thrown at her, she wasn't gonna take no shit from anybody.
"Calm down mamacíta." Julius chuckled which only made Brenda want to go over there and punch his damn face into the concrete.
"Wait a minute, why don't I just find y'all a fifth? And y'all settle this out on the streets?" Tej spoke up when he noticed the tension starting to rise between Julius and the girls.
"Bring him on." Suki stated confidently.
"Anybody I want." Tej stated, the guys all agreed and when they looked at Brenda for confirmation they noticed the smirk on her face.
"Game on."
A/N: this story will not follow the entire movie, though it will still fall in line with the plot there will still be some things that are different.
