Brenda tightened up the extension underneath Suki's remodeled car as the sweat dripped profusely down her forehead. She was in focus mode as she double checked to make sure that everything was in place. Rolling out from underneath the hood she bobs her head as Tupac's 'Dear Mama' played from the stereo not too far away. It was so loud that she didn't even notice Brian and the same guy that was with him at the Pearl walk in the garage.
"Jesus Christ Brian." She snapped as she walked over to lower the volume. "Can't call or give me a heads up?" she wiped her forehead off with the greasy towel and threw it on the table. "Could say the same to you, could've given me a heads up that you were gonna be at the club that night." he crossed his arms over his chest as Brenda resisted the urge to roll her eyes.
"And I needed to tell you because?" she tried to keep the attitude at ease but she wasn't gonna let Brian talk to her like he was her father. "Damn, lil mama got an attitude." she heard the unknown guy mumble.
"Son of a bitch!" both boys ducked as they saw the hard metal wrench being thrown at them, they barely made it in time before the wrench smacked violently into the wall. "My attitude ain't the only thing you should be worried about punk ass." Brenda snapped as she turned back to Suki's hood.
"God damn." Roman mumbled as he watched her walk across the garage towards the tool kit. "Either say what you're gonna say or get out, I don't have time for this." Brenda told them as she looked for the right tool. She had a feeling as to why Brian was here, but she wouldn't tell him anything because she honestly didn't know the answers to the questions he would possibly ask.
"Why were you at the club with Carter last night?" Brenda sighed as she set the tool down, she turned around to face them as she grabbed the towel and cleaned the grease off her hands. "I technically didn't mean to be with him that night, I was there to just get a drink but then he showed up and then that's when you guys came in."
"I think there's way more that you're not telling me. You've seen him before haven't you." It was a statement, and a rather bold one that made Brenda clench her teeth.
"Why does it matter?" she spat out.
"You're not denying it." setting the towel down she marches up to Brian with a finger jamming into his chest. "It is none of your goddamn business, what I do is what I do, and what you do is your business. Don't you ever accuse me of shit when you're in no place to talk." she wanted to punch him and she almost did.
"It is my business when it involves a criminal that I have to take down." Brenda froze as he said those words.
"What the hell are you talking about Brian?" she asked him as she dug her finger further into his chest, Brian tried his best cover the small pain but he let his body twitch. "There's a reason why I'm here Brenda, I'm on an assignment, and it involves Carter."
"How does this so called assignment involve Carter?" her heart was beating fast. She didn't know whether or not it was because of the answer she was about to receive, or because she was flat out angry. Whatever it was, she had a feeling deep in the pit of her stomach that what she was about to find out was either going to scare her or break her. "Carter isn't just a club owner, he's one of the biggest drug lord's in Miami. He's hiring drivers from all over the country to come and smuggle drugs into the city. Me and Roman are undercover and are trying to take him down from the inside, Monica is also helping us take him down."
